Raindance & Suzanne

Suzanne opened the barn door, bringing one of her saddles, and a double bridle with her. She rested these over the fold out saddle rack, and one of the two bridle/halter hooks next to the stall door, and went back to get her tack cart with the rest of the supplies. She stoped the cart outside her stall, and smiled as raindance came to greet her. Hey girl, how are you? she whispered as she rubbed inbetween the mares soft blue eyes. The mare wuffled to her as she put the halter one, gentley nudging her. She smiled as she tied her up outside the stall with a small haynet, and caved in and gave her some mints.

She groomed the mare off, only roughly, not bothering with the mane and tail, she had plans for those. Then she threw the nummnah over the paint's back, and followed it with the brand new Dressage saddle which she had recently added to Raindance's wardrobe. The mare looked at her as she adjusted the GP saddle, snorted, ready to go. Suzanne swept her brown hair back before grabbing the double bridle off it's hook. She gently asked the mare to open her mouth, and slipped her thumb in to help her understand. She pushed the bridoon in first, then the curb, not adjusting the chain just yet. She took the head piece over her ears, and adjusted the two sets of reins. She quickly plaited the forelock and frech plaited the mane. She put the mares polo wraps on, and bandaged her dock. She tightened the girth, led the mare outside, and picked her hooves out. She mounted, not bothering the curb rein until work began, giving dance most the length of the bridoon rein.

The mare leg yielded nicely to open the arena gate, and instantly softened her mouth, and rounded up as she entered the arena. Suzanne smiled, adujsting her spurs slighly, and taking up the curb reins, and getting the right contact with the all the reins. Checking her schooling whip was ok, she asked the mare to stride out large. Sitting up straight, and using her weight more then her hands to shift the horse. Dancer strode out nicely, keeping balenced and under herself. After a ciricuit they did a circle, a figure of eight, a second circle at the other end, and a sepintine, and thrid centered circle. The mare bend easily with each movement. They then repeated this on both sides. Suzanne trotted round large on each rein, and moved her through the same movments in collected, extended, and working trot on each rein. The paint was really working now.

Charlotte

Charlotte walked out of her bed and breakfast. She smiled as she saw Suzanne riding Raindance. Her boots crunched beneath the thin snow, and her eyes sparkled as she watched Raindance. Reaching the arena, she leaned her body weight against the fence, putting her arms on the top of the fence. Thank-you Raindance. For all that help that night when Dust Devil came.
