it goes like this
It had been a rather peaceful day at the corral. Well, until a certain something arrived. A dusty truck had turned down the road that led into the corral, and it towed a long horse trailor along behind it. The tires stirred up a cloud of whirling dust as it lightly squealed to a stop by one of the pens. Anyone could see that this trailor, which appeared to be brand new and rather top of the line was still shivering even at a halt. The motor of the truck ahead of it soon died down and was turned off shortly before a couple humans hopped from either side of it. Doors were shut, and the two headed to the back of the trailor, and began to steadily lower the shining ramp to the ground.
At the sudden onset of bright light in his eyes, the tall stallion tried to rear, almost tapping his head off the roof of the trailor. The wind blew in tremendous amounts of dust then, causing him to falter a moment and toss his head about, temporarily blinded.
The two humans finished lowering the ramp, and without wasting a second moment, one of them jumped into the trailor and grabbed onto the lead of the halter which was strapped about the horse's head. The stallion was startled at this, stepping back quickly as the human finished untieing the lead from the metal railing. As the stallion continued to step back, the human was almost dragged along, but faught back and pulled hard on the lead. Eventually, the big horse gave in, being confined in such a close space, and he could sense he was nearing the wall of the trailor.
The man pulled on the lead some more and the stallion began to walk forward, taking long strides. He was down the ramp and standing in the dust in no time, and it almost instantly began to collect on his bay pelt. His muscles continued to ripple as he moved along, following the two-legged that still had a firm, hard grip on the lead. The human had to jog to keep up with the stallion at this point, whom was now taking even longer strides for a trot. They reached the gate of the nearest pen they had parked by and the man quickly unlocked the latch, swinging the gate open, and carefully watching as the horse simply strode in. At that moment, as the horse passed, he reached out and rather skillfully unclipped the lead, rolling it up and hanging it on the gate pole. Breathing deeply at this point, the human watched for a few seconds and then turned, closing the gate and being sure to lock it behind him.
Now in the rather small paddock, the stallion turned about, observing his new surroundings. Dust had collected rather well on his damp pelt, darkened by the sweat. He had turned, all wide eyed and alert to watch as the human headed away back to the truck, but noticed they didn't get back in. They actually kept going and stepped into the small log-constructed building in front of the truck. He snorted at this. So now, why was he here?
Scarlette O'hara
Brushing back strands of hair from her fascade, Scarlette pulled into the Corral parking area. Her black GMC suburban had a coat of dust laying on it making it appear sort of reddish black. She parked, grabbing her sunglasses, putting them atop her head. She brushed her ever-falling locks away from her eyes again, and got out of the car. The car door slammed shut and she turned towards to corral. Gravel moved under her riding boots. She wore a simple T that expressed her love for "Fall Out Boy". and a pair of worn out faded jeans.
She looked around, see a few different corrals with quite a few different horses. But catching her eye was a tall TB stallion that was recently unloaded. Scarlette made her way over to the large guy. She whistled seeing if she got his attention.

This stallion wasn't very phased about being stuck in this corral like he had. Almost each time he took a step from a stand still, his knees would sharply crack beneath him as he bent his legs. After such a long ride from outside the valley, he was glad to finally be out of that annoying contraption, but for beginners, just where was he? When he was loaded in the trailor, he would be hauled to the racetrack or somewhere like the vets. He had never even seen so much dirt and dust before. It was like a crazy nightmarish dream.
After a while of pacing and circling about the corral, trying to figure out what was going on, he slowed to a halt and lifted his head high. He could see many things, and there were plenty of fences and other horses. None of them looked much like the classy elegant Thoroughbreds he would converse with back at the stable. He could tell immedietly, he shouldn't be here.
His bay pelt was beginning to dry off by now as he stood there, flaring nostrils taking in all the new and unknown scents. Every once in a while a human would pass by his section and watch him, as to which he would respond by bolting and neighing, only to slow and in turn watch them leave. He loved the attention, but why were they just standing there staring at him like some dumbfounded bird? Hadn't they ever seen true beauty and grace before? Probably not, by the looks of this place.
After what felt to be the hundredth human left his corral, he stood there in the middle and breathed in deeply. Hay. He could smell hay now. He looked up toward the building by the parking lot to see one of the same two-leggeds from earlier walking out towards his corral. He pricked his ears at this, seeing a rather flat leathery-looking saddle in the human's arms. And that was when he spotted the new girl. Another passerby to gawk at his splendidness. At the sight of her watching him, he snorted, and then she whistled. This caught him off guard and he seemed to spook, hinds shoving his frame from the ground and all four legs carrying him about the corral. Once again, he became sweaty and dust collected on his pelt. He was getting tired of this, surprisingly.
The human with the saddle had walked up to the fencing and placed it upon the top rail. Then he turned and left back to the building, to just come back out with a dark and thin saddle pad and an equally thin-looking bridle that matched the saddle. At this moment, the human noticed the other person standing by the corral, and then looked out at the stallion pacing about. However, he didn't approach her. Not until she showed some signs of actually somehow taking a liking to this horse, or if she came to him first. Maybe they'de sell this horse quicker than they thought.

Shoot. Seeming to have spooked him she took in a deep breath and blew up her bands fluttering of to the side of her fascade. Round two. Scarlette approached the edge of the fence, slowly. Admiring the stallions height and color. She glanced briefly now and then at the guy with the saddle, possible tacking him up for a demo of some sort? This was where they sold horses wasn't it. She'd stick and watch for a hint longer then ask some questions. The beast reeked confidence. Which was what she was looking for. It could be a bad thing, maybe. But in the ring she was totally fine with a horse that was confident. But cocky, not so much. Liking the proud mount, she took another step towards the fence. Placing her slim digits among the top rails. Showtime.

The stallion wasn't so sure about this now. That girl wouldn't leave. Maybe she was here to take him out of here? Well if she was, he wanted far away from it. Those humans, stuffing him in this little corral and then practically forgetting about him. Oh, he got plenty other stares, but not the ones he exactly wanted at this moment. Snorting lightly, his dark eyes darted from one to the other, watching the familiar two-legged and then switching to the unknown girl. She had moved closer to the fence. He pricked his ears forward, wondering what was going on. He noticed the tack immedietly and brought up a fore leg to pound it back down into the ground, sending up a few puffs of dust. They stirred around his legs and then swirled out of sight. At that moment, some of it happened to be taken by his flaring nostrils and he sneezed, shooting droplets about him.
The human with the tack had sat it all upon the top railing and was now fully watching the girl. Only for a moment though, since he really should make that horse burn some of that energy and curiousity. He turned back to the horse and walked to the gate, whistling lightly as he unlatched it and pushed it open, then did the same on the inside to shut it. He was headed towards the stallion now, having taken the looped up lead from earlier and holding it readily in his hands. He could see the stallion watching him, and he was careful with his motions. The horse had been stuck in that cramped trailor the whole trip here and he didn't appear to be a very enthused one at that. He reached the horse then, whom was about to turn away, when he suddenly reached out and clipped on the lead to the loop attached to the bottom of the halter.
The stallion snorted at this, and reluctantly followed as the human clucked and led him back to the fence by the gate and tack. It was here that he was tied up to wait once again, though he could tell he was about to be ridden. He lifted his fore leg and began to paw at the ground again, leaving scrapes visible in the withering dirt. He was watching his handler intently as the human started off down the fence a little ways, toward that girl. His head turned and ears pricked at this, curious.
He headed down the inner side of the fence and looked to the girl, reaching where she stood in a few long steps. The horse seemed to be getting to him nowadays. "Hello," he began as he came to stop , placing his arms about the rail, "I see you've been watching this horse. Interested in him?" he asked, deciding to get right to the point, make it short and sweet. The quicker they sold the horse then the quicker they could get out of the valley and start home. He had to admit, he would miss the stallion either way.

Her hair tossled in a breeze, brushing it out her eyes again she gave a quick grin at the man and nodded. "Actually, I am. How much are you selling for?" She asked. Money wasn't a huge object, she was willing to put some moolah foreward for the attractive bronc.

The man nodded, and then thought a moment. "If I remember correctly, they're asking a good 10k," he stated with a nod. Then he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small notebook and opened it, eyes scanning over a few lines to find the stallion's page. "Yep, that's it, 10k." he said. Then his eyes washed over the stallion once more, whom was still standing there, evidently becoming restless as he pounded at the ground with a hoof. The man turned back to Scarlette at that moment, deciding to give her a little rundown of things. "By the looks of this, place," he began, looking about the corral, "you won't find a much better equine around these parts. He was a racehorse before being brought here. Last owner couldn't keep him. His name's Best Move." he explained, nodding. "I was actually just about to take him for a ride to burn some of that energy," he added. Then he waited for a reply, placing the booklet back into his pocket.
Best Move, as the stallion was known as, snorted anxiously at his post back by the gate and tack. Every few seconds he would swing his head about and stare at the two humans, as if expecting something. Well he was, actually. In irritation, he reached out and began to gnaw at the wooden fence and snap at the lead rope.

Her eyes danced over the handsome beast. He'd be a challenge, but she had patience and was willing to take the time to make something out of him. Well he was certainly something, just needed some behavior tune ups and downs. "I'll take him." She said, her toothy grin looked charming and smart. She pulled out her check book and sketched out the amount and gestured her hand toward the man, awaiting the check to be taken. "Best Move," she nodded towards the bronc "sir, hes in good hands." She nodded, not sure if he really cared or not, but rather be safe about it.

The man stood there, watching her take what appeared to be a checkbook out and scribble some things down. With his own smile, he stepped forward and reached to take the check, which he then carefully folded and took out his booklet again, and slid it in where Best Move's page was. "Thank you. Any papers and such will be sure to be mailed to you," he stated, nodding. Then he turned and motioned to her to follow him, and so he headed back down to the stallion, whom was still gnawing away at the wood. He reached out to give the horse a slap. "As you may have guessed, here he is. You're free to take him any time you choose." he stated, and then pointed to the tack on the fencing. "And feel free to use that tack while you're here, if you want." he finished, and then turned to head back to the log building.
The tall bay had since stopped chewing on the wood when the rather unwelcoming hand came towards him. He lifted his head high and kept his neck turned to watch the girl that was left with him here. He snorted. Who was this? Rumbling deeply in his throat, he reached out and tried to lip at her clothing. People like this usually had treats or something of the sort. Though actually, his owner never enjoyed spoiling him with treats.
Scarlette O'hara
With a nod and a lasting grin, she thanked the man and bid him good-bye. Tata. Toodles. Au Revior.
Scarlette chuckled at the bronc lipping at her clothes. He either likes cotton or wants treats. Not brining any with her, she offered a stroke to his fascade instead, hoping he wouldn't spook. She had a feeling he could be a spaz, but who knew for sure. "Its you and me pal." She said letting out a large breath. She glanced over at the tack. Hm. Riding him right now? Hmmm. Her conscious told her no but her spirit said toss caution to the wind!

When he didn't get a treat, he simply snorted and lifted his head, rumbling deeply again as though mumbling something. He didn't spook at the hand, contrary to what many would probably expect him to do. This was like deja vu. No one ever had any treats for him anymore. Not like many did before. He was a racehorse. No need to be spoiled fat with treats, is what his owner would say. If only he knew that may happen.
Bored for the hundredth time since getting here, he gave his slender head a shake and went to swiftly turn his body- angle it from the girl and fence. He had forgotten about the lead still being tied up so his head was suddenly jerked back again, making him jump and pull against the newfound yet oh-so-familiar force. He snorted at this, annoyance taking over. Then in the process of tugging sharply at the fence, he shot a glare to the girl, as if saying 'Well what are ya just standing there for?' Wow, what a day...
Scarlette O'hara
He's got an ego. She could smell it. Her brown raised as she went to the fence to untie him, she'd leave him be for the night. But a little pampering before she left. She'd start working with him tomarro, and trailer him to somewhere that hopefully met his standards, or at least wasn't dirt and fence. Scarlette ran her hand down the beast's side. "Chill out." She said calmly, giving him a relaxed look. "I know this isn't what you are used to. But bare with me, won't you?" Scarlette spoke calmly, then she hopped over the fence to her car. She grabbed a tack box and made her way back. she set it aside the fence and began working at his coat with a soft body brush, if he'd let her...

Finally! he thought as she untied him, and he was able to pull away from the fence easily. He turned his rump to the fence and took a thought about knocking it right off it's poles. However, that thought was brief as he felt the sudden hand against his pelt, causing his skin to twitch a couple times beneath her palm. People never did pet him much. He had grown accustomed to not caring for such a thing, but then decided he could get used to it. Instead of pulling away from it or turning to stare at her, he forced himself to enjoy it until she turned away from him. It was then that he sprung back into life, turning about and facing her direction as she left to her weird contraption thing. He watched, all ear-pricked and curious as she brought out a box. He snorted, wondering what that was. Did it have treats? Nah, he couldn't smell anything if it did. He discarded the idea. Then he thought about brushes, and pondered over what could really be inside it.
His dark eyes continued to study her as she came back over and placed the box on the ground, and it was at that moment he had the desire to breathe in the scent of it. He stepped closer to it and the fence and lowered his head to it, sniffing deeply and registering the scent. 'Body' cleaning stuff, he realized.
Snorting, he breathed over the ground and sent little puffs of dust into the air, and then lifted his head high again. He felt the brush make it's way across his pelt, leaving a track of smooth dust-less bay hue. He sighed deeply, his sides heaving with the breath. The pointy ends of the brush often caused his pelt to shiver and twitch, though it felt pretty good overall.

Scarlette worked over his coat pretty well. Though it didn't need to much. After she finished his chassi she walked around him and but the brush away. Her appendages raised and her digits ran over the pelt that covered his neck. "Good boy." She told him. Fore he was being good. She stepped away from him and clucked, seeing if it'd get his attention. And took a step back, and another. Her hands slapping her jeans. "Come here boy....You going to follow me?" In her mind she figured he'd just let her walk all night by herself. But maybe he'd follow her....maybe he wouldn't...

Another deep, wheezing sigh slipped from his nostrils as he stood there. Was it just him, or did that prickly little brush actually feel good? He couldn't be sure... Those things could hurt if you sniffed them. He had learned that way back as a young colt. He certainly wouldn't do such a thing now.
He had stood there stiff-legged and tall as she worked over his pelt, and soon enough he was back to his good ol' gleaming self. The chocolatey brown hue shined with a light spark in the light of the new sunset. It seemed to be getting dark pretty fast, yet the ground was still bathed in enough sunlight to be considered day. Suddenly he picked his head up quickly, jerking awake and out of his wandering thoughts. He realized the brush was being put away and he snorted, turning his head and studying her again. He turned and angled his body toward her then, staring, his dark eyes gleaming in the light. He felt as though he could fall asleep right then and there, but he didn't want to with this new human around. She was alright as far as brushing and that stuff was concerned, so far.
He watched as she backed away from him then, and his previously swiveling ears pricked once she began to slap her own legs. He snorted at this, lifting his head just a tad higher at each slapping noise. She was a strange one, but he felt the need to approach her. Taking long slow steps towards her, his knees cracked beneath him as they bent, and he then brought himself to a halt about a couple feet away from her. It was then that he stared at her, pelt twitching. It didn't appear he was going to get anything out of that. He wasn't some little lost pup. It was like she wanted, expected him to follow her.
Scarlette O'Hara
A lock of dark hair dared to fall in her eyes. She brushed it back quickly, with a little huff. Noticing he wasn't coming any closer she placed her hands on her hips. "Uhuh, yup. Okay..." She said biting her lip. "I see how it is." She watched him, eyeing him actually. she'd have him freshly shod and give him a real good work-over grooming tomarro. Maybe a bath. Then take that puppy out for a ride! She bowed, ina sort of a goofy way. Gesturing her arm out. Looking quite theatrical. "Good evening, James" She said in a deep voice. Then she excitied the corral. Until the next morning came.

The stallion snorted at her rather unusual reaction to his stopping, and he gave his mane a toss which seemed to be directed at her. He then watched her as she put on her little show, wondering just what she was thinking when she did all this. She was an odd human. No one had ever done that stuff before, at least not around him. He followed her with his eyes, turning his head when he needed, as she left the corral and headed off. Leaving it at that, he turned and stalked off, towards the center of the corral. It was then that he lowered his head and attempted to drift off to sleep.
