Doyle
Shadows screamed as Doyle slunk quietly into this place, inhaling deeply the smell of horseflesh. The black man bristled with weapons all over, and was dressed simply in black trousers and a white shirt. His waist-length black braid stirred a little in the wind as he squinted, seeing what was definitely a horse-fighting ring in the distance. White teeth flashed suprisingly against that coal skin, and he let out a hail, wanting to see someone about working here.

Doyle's presence didn't go long unnoticed. As luck would have it, the owner of the facility was here, making his usual rounds of the place. He strode over to Doyle with a faint nod in greeting. "Can I help you with something?"
Doyle
The dark man returned the nod, eyes locking on the other, sizing him up, as he did habitually with others. Deciding that this man was okay, he spoke quietly, that deep voice of his low and steady. I thought you might be able to use another hand 'round here. He was not one for the diplomatic dance that passed for conversation, and so got straight to the point. I've a bit of a hand for horses. I've worked a bit in auctions and racing, but stallion fighting is my specialty. All legal, of course. His habitual grin spread over his face, fire dancing in the dark eyes as he tossed his braid over one shoulder, pulling a scant bit of straw out of the ebony tresses before flinging it back behind him again. All I ask is room and board, and a small allowance to call my own. But I can make a stallion fight like you wouldn't believe. Make you a very rich fellow, I dare say. He drew one of his daggers and began picking at his nails, slit eyes looking up at the man. Well... what say you?
*Human*
The man listened with slightly squinted eyes as Doyle relayed his skills and what he wanted. He'd shift his weight from one leg to the other, while giving little nods or thoughtful grunts at what was said. After letting a moment of thoughtful silence pass and giving Doyle a look over as well, the man gave his reply, "Your offer is a good one, and I have to admit we need some more help around here." He now looked back to the far end of the corral where a door could just be seen beyond the last of the bleachers, "If you head out that way, you'll find a long building. That's where some of the out of town contestants stay when we have longer events. The very first room in that building should suit you; it's the largest we've got, thought it's quite simple. A bedroom and bathroom, with the accomodations of a tv and phone." Now it was the man's turn to grin a bit, then he went on, "If you can prove yourself in the stallion fighting, then you'll be earning some hefty wages of your own."
The man pulled a ring of keys from his upper pocket and fiddled through the aray until he detached one and handed it to Doyle, "That's the key to your room. We're going to have a stallion tomorrow, if we can get some people to sign up.."
Doyle
Doyle let that startling smile spread across his face, accepting the key with a nod of his own. Glad to see I'll be working with such an intelligent fellow. I can't abide ignorance. Many thanks. See you round the ranch, boss. And he gave one last, deep nod, and headed off to his room.
