ASHLiN GLENN WONDERSTARR

It was a bright and beautiful sunny day, not a cloud in the sky. It was calm and warm with a few cool breezes every now and then. However, this peaceful display of the corral was disrupted only when the soft thud of hooves sounded over the ground, and a light poof of dust stirred up a ways off. It would become clear that the source was a horse, a tall slender mare of dapple gray. Upon her back was her rider and owner, Ashlin. The mare was equipped with a black english saddle and matching bridle, decorated neatly with small silver stars. She was taking high but easy steps, headed toward the location of the corral.

Ashlin's long reddish hair, which was highlighted with blonde, blew out behind her as the pair continued onward, the girl using the reins to steer her mount toward the nearest empty pen. This was a good place to practice and ride.
She sat high in the saddle, directing the mare to the gate, and reaching out swiftly to unlatch it and swing it open. The dapple gray moved away to avoid the gate, and then was urged into the open pen. Behind them, the gate lurched back into place, though unlocked. At this, Ashlin reached out with her hand and patted her mare's neck, "Let's make this a good one today, Star," she spoke easily with a low tone, though not quite a whisper. She often reffered to her horse as 'Star' or 'Wonder'. She tapped Wonderstarr's sides with her booted heels and urged the mare into a trot. It was quick, not at all unusual for Wonderstarr, but was smooth and easy all the same. Ashlin rode the tall lithe mare around the pen, sending up only a but of dust in the process. She moved along with Wonderstarr's gait, as though they were one being. This was the perfect day for a perfect round.

Hallie,Rainbow Heaven, Bosco

A black and white mare tacked western who held a rider was in the ring next to them. Hallie looked over but nothing more. She kicked Heaven into a canter as they sped off toward a barrel she slowed to a trot and then sped up again and then slowed then sped up again and then slowed and then sped comming back. Her mare would then do a sliding halt. She patted her neck.Good job heaven lets just ride nowShe spoke softly to her mare. Her dog Bosco now joined the two running around the pen.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin continued to allow her mare to circle around the perimeter of the pen, sending up flecks of dirt behind them as Wonderstarr's hooves struck the ground. Ashlin kept the mare at a steady even trot, then kicked her into a canter, still moving with her. Wonderstarr was trained in english by Ashlin, as it was quite evident with her gaits, though Ashlin specialized most in western. Western was Ashlin's thing, you could say, but Star was excellent all the same in english.
Soon, after a few rounds of the pen, Ashlin pulled back on the reins lightly and a smile lit her face, "Perfect, Star," she stated, giving the mare one more pat before letting her simply stride around the enclosure. After some of that, the human brought her to a complete halt, which happened to end at the fence seperating her pen and then another girl's. Ashlin looked over curiously, having only caught a couple pointless glimpses of what this other girl was doing. Wonderstarr lifted her dial and looked over as well, her auds pricking. Spotting the other mare, she opened her dark maw and emitted a loud neigh.
Ashlin sat upon the mare, her green eyes looking over the other pair. She enjoyed watching others when they knew what they were doing, and this girl looked as though she was well on her way. Ashlin couldn't be too judging of that aspect, though. She watched as a dog soon joined the two, and she raised a brow. Interesting. Ashlin didn't have a dog, though she had one back at her family's ranch. So there she sat, and waited, figuring she would see if the girl would stop sometime. If so, perhaps Ashlin would try speaking up a bit. She really didn't have any friends since arriving at the valley.

Hallie

Hallie soon slowed her mare down and then halted close to the fence as well. She did not look at the othe girl. She knew she was watching her but didn't plan on looking at her.She jumped down and then with she told her mare to lie down. Rainbow laid down. Bosco climbed on her back and then hallie got on as well. She had trained her dog to sit on the back of her mare only at a walk seeing as any faster the dog would go flying off.Rainbow slowly got up as not to allow the dog to fall off.She heard the neigh and looked frighteningly at the mare. She had not only been abused by humans but they also pited other horses against her. Of course she won most but it scared her so and she didn't like it one bit.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

At the sight of a big dog climbing onto a horse's back, both horse and rider's mouth was agape. Wonderstarr couldn't believe how a horse would just let a giant dog sit on them. She wasn't that kind of mare, not at all. Her human didn't even have a dog with her anymore. It wasn't that Wonderstarr didn't like them, but sometimes they just got on her nerves.

Ashlin released a long sigh as the girl seemed to avoid her. She wouldn't stop at that, though. A dog riding a horse was something, but a girl like that was something else. So patting her mare as the equine gave a snort, Ashlin kept her eyes on the girl and gave a small wave. Even that other horse seemed... Oh whatever. "Hello?" Ashlin called out, still curious, and growing a bit tired of just sitting there. That human, horse and dog looked like quite the different bunch.
Wonderstarr herself lifted a fore hoof up and pounded it down on the ground, striking it and leaving her print, before propping the tip of a hind hoof against the ground. She was also growing bored and restless with just standing there. She knew her human had nothing else to do, and that often meant the same for Wonderstarr herself.

Hallie

Hallie stoped Heaven and looked over. She Swallowed.he-Hello...She said shakily.

Heaven whickered and pawed the ground.

Bosco growled lightly.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin watched the other girl with an interested gaze. However, Hallie didn't seem very, how should I put it, open? "Just wanted to say that's pretty good skill you have with that," she stated, nodding. Her eyes washed over the horse, "And a fine horse," she added, then reached to pat Wonderstarr. "Oh, and I'm Ashlin Glenn and this wicked mare is Wonderstarr." she stated with a chuckle, picking through Wonderstarr's mane with her fingers.

Wonderstarr snorted once more, and looked over at the other mare. "Who are you?" she asked, flicking her banner. Her owner was trying to speak with this unknown human, so what would it hurt for her to try to spark a conversation? She could sense the aura was uneasy around here, though, causing her to keep her auds planed to the sides.

Hallie

HAllie listened.Thank you, Im Hallie, This is bosco and this is HeavenShe said calmly trying to stay calm. She patted her mare ad then the rottie.

Heaven listened as the mare now spoke.Im heaven

Bosco yawned.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin continued to pluck through Wonderstarr's mane, seperating a few hairs and moving them to the opposite side from the others. She had barely noticed Hallie had replied until she was finished talking, and she lifted her head to look over again. "Are you new around here? I just arrived, maybe a couple months ago. I really don't know my way around yet." she stated, bringing her hands back down to grip the reins.

Wonderstarr almost narrowed her black eyes at the other mare, taking it all in. She seemed quiet and reserved-- not at all like Wonderstarr, really. "I'm Wonderstarr. Who's your owner?" she then asked, auds flickering forward for only a moment, and then back again. Then her eyes traveled to the canine. "And why's that canine on you?" she asked, giving a light snort. She probably seemed like a little filly asking all her questions, but the tone wasn't at all like the curious one of the foals. More serious-like.

Hallie

She nodded.Yah, I ran away from my father

My owner is Hallie and the Canine is Bosco, He is on my back because he is my friend and he is still recovering from a broken pawShe nsorted.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin's eyes took on a curious look. She ran away? What for? she asked herself, a finger rubbing against the reins in her grasp as she thought. "Ran away? Must have been something bad, then." she stated, clearly unsure. She then gave a sigh, becoming bored with sitting there.

Wonderstarr sighed almost at the same time Ashlin did, and then gave her mane a brisk shake to return the stray black hairs into place. "Broken paw? Ahah," she stated, snorting again. "From what?" she then asked, tired of being the one that had to speak first to get something out of the other. She dipped her head a bit then, resting.

Hallie

She closed her eyes and then moved her hair that covered her right eye. Showing a vey dark bruise. My father abused me, My horse was abused and my dog my abused so i took them and left

Heaven; She gazed back at the dog and then back to the mare. Our masters father broke it. He was abusive to all of usShe spoke softly.

Bosco:he had laid down licking his paw.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin took in the sight of the bruise, which was just now revealed to her. She held back a gasp, and instead furrowed her brows. "Does anyone know? He's obviously not safe," she stated, feeling a hint of anger rise. Anyone that would abuse an animal was certainly on her bad list. Animals had always been her life; a living dream.

Wonderstarr's dial lifted at the mare's words. She then tilted it, her own brows furrowing. Ahah, so that was why she was so untalkitive. She gave a snort. "You should give him a good whipping." she stated, lifting a fore hoof and smashing it into the ground. Ashlin noticed this and reached to give the mare a pat.

Hallie

She shook her head. No, He threaten to kill my animals first and then me if i told . Im risking everything by runnign away.

The mare snorted. If i see him again I would

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin's eyes gleamed. Such a human should never see daylight again. Ashlin could only laugh if such a thing happened to the one who threatened to do it to someone else. She then sighed. "But if he was away in jail, let's say, the chances would be slim to get to you," she stated, guessing for the most part. She wasn't great with that prison lingo. Then she turned to a new subject, "On a lighter note, how long have you been riding?" she asked, preferring to talk of something else instead.

Wonderstarr, on the other hoof, decided to remain with the topic. "Then maybe you should track him down. A horse and dog could easily knock a human around." she snorted, lifting her dial and pawing the dirt covered ground.

Hallie

oh he would have waysShe sighed.I've been riding since i was 3 years oldShe spoke lightly.

She snorted and shook her dial.I rather not.She said quietly

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin's lip curved up in a grin. She had grown up on a ranch her whole life with her mother and father, both horse showers and trainers. "I've been riding since I can remember. My parents had me sitting on horses since I grew hair." she stated with a chuckle, and then thought some more. "I'm interested in learning polo, what about you? I think it looks quite fun." she began, wondering silently if she was changing subjects a little too much. But that was just Ashlin. Deep down, she really was interested in polo. She planned on finding a horse someday to learn polo on, or perhaps Wonderstarr even, though the Thoroughbred was quite tall.

Wonderstarr's auds flickered, and she pawed the ground some more. After that, she shifted her weight to her opposite limbs, growing bored and restless. "I would." she simply stated. She wasn't too sure about her own words, but she knew she would have to have some way to get back at such a human. She could understand certain fears, though.

Hallie

She listened.Lets go for a ride while we talk shall we?She said now leaving her ring. Nah I only like western sports

heaven moved at a walk.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin gave a nod then, picking the reins up and gently kicking her booted heels into Wonderstarr's sides. The mare started off at a fleet-footed walk, and turned when she felt the pressure of the bit deepen in her mouth. Lifting her dial, she made her way to the gate, and slipped through it, with Ashlin reaching to shut it once they were outside. Locking it, she aimed Wonderstarr at Hallie and the other mare, kicking her sides lightly again to have her catch up. Once they were side by side, about a yard stick away, she evened the mare's gait to mostly match the other. "Western is my specialty, though I also know a good bit of english. I trained Wonderstarr completely in english." she stated, resting her hands to Wonderstarr's withers. She released a deep sigh, relaxed and content. "Polo has always interested me," she then said, excitement growing at the thought.

Wonderstarr wanted to take her usual strides, but was kept in line by Ashlin. She snorted at this, though knew it was her 'duty' to listen to her owner.

Hallie

She smiled.Letting her mare lengthen her strides alittle.Western has always been my life. Reining and Barrel racing i'vedone most of my life. I just love having a free hand too

Hallie snorted lightly and lenghten her strides slightly.

Bosco yawned.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

When Hallie let her mare lengthen strides, Ashlin allowed Wonderstarr to do the same, though the Thoroughbred wanted to go faster. Ashlin kept her back, though, with a firm hand. "I've done mostly barrel racing, but have also done poles. Reining hasn't really appealed to me much, though my parents have done plenty of it. I have also tried cutting and team penning. I've shown a few horses in halter as well." she stated with a smile, thinking about all of it. She loved western, but english was fine as well. Western, she simply grew up with. She learned the basics of english from her mother, then did a bit of 'research' on it.

Wonderstarr snorted, making sure she was always next to the other mare, not once letting herself fall behind. She was breathing deeply, trying to enjoy the little pace.

Hallie

She smiled.I enjoy any western sportShe said and then looked back.Bosco are you sure you can walk? She said noting the dog sitting up.She sighed. She halted HEavenand she laid down allowing Bosco to climb off.She then stood and allowed Heaven to lenthen her strides to a trot.Nares flared.

Bosco he padded after them.

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin gave another smile, thinking about it once more. Then she snapped out of it when Hallie had to stop. She watched the bunch curiously, as the horse layed down, allowing the dog off. "That's an interesting thing you can do," she stated, observing it with a watchful eye. Very... she thought, having Wonderstarr stopped by them. She snorted at this, bringing her dial up and down quickly. She was much happier when Heaven finally sped up, and she didn't wait for a cue from Ashlin, she just went and came by the others' side again.

Hallie

she smiled.Yah well It comes in handyShe smiled.Sitting nicly on her horses back

bosco followed with a limp but followed.

she snorte.d

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin grinned. Her position upon Wonderstarr's back was tall, but she was much more casual when out of show. Sighing deeply, she looked around. "Would you want to go somewhere else? I think I'm becoming a bit tired of seeing dirt, poles and dirt." she stated with a chuckle, taking in a deep breath of fresh air then.

Wonderstarr snort every once in a while, her dark eyes half closed. Her banner hung loosely behind her elegant frame, though her limbs carried her proudly.

Hallie

She nodded.Sure just lead the way

ASHLiN WONDERSTARR

Ashlin nodded, quite clearly with the smooth trot of the mare. She then used the reins and turned Wonderstarr, kicking her sides some more, though not making her go too fast. Some enjoyment of the countryside would be nice, and no one wanted to be left in the dust, which would be highly likely with Wonderstarr. So now she headed away from the corral, toward the marsh.
