Nate and Veronica Cole, Spencer Yelnats

Nate drove Veronica and Spencer and him to get food. They had just gotten to Sparkling Creek Valley. Their luggage and everything was still in the trunk. Veronica immediately got out as soon as they stopped. She stretched and looked at Nate as he got out. She saw where they were and ran in. Her tummy was a rumbling for food. She took a seat at a table that could fit six people. She sat in a corner and stretched her feet. Looking at the menu.

Nate got out and followed Roni inside. He looked around and took a seat on the other side of her sitting with his feet on the ground. He looked at the menu and then laid it down after he had decided what he wanted.

Spencer was the last to get out of the car. He followed them bother inside taking in the scenery around them he went in. He sat by Nate and looked at Roni. ''Sit right Roni'' he said. Roni glared at him. ''Make me'' she said. He just glared at her and then looked at the menu.

Kayla and Bethany Anderson

Kayla and Bethany were taking the morning off. They had asked Leila, Matt, and Luke to help the hands take care of the horses this morning so they could take some time away from the ranch. It was about lunch time now, though, and they still hadn't left the ranch. Instead they had just gotten dressed and sat around for a little while. Though, Kayla's stomach had began to growl loudly and as they both laughed at the noise, Bethany suggested they go find somewhere to eat. Kayla agreed. They then headed out to Bethany's Jeep and got into it. They each wore a pair of tight flared jeans and form fitting t-shirts. They got in and drove to the Cafe. Once there they saw it was pretty packed. They entered to see there wasn't a single empty table. She spotted three people sitting at a large table and they approached. Do y'all mind if we sit here? It was Kayla who spoke. Maybe it sounded a little odd for her to ask this, but she was starving.

Nate looked up at the girl. He felt his heart skip a beat. He nodded. ''Go ahead sit we dont mind.'' he said. He looked at Roni. ''Roni, move your feet and let them sit.'' he said. Roni sighed and moved her feet. ''Im Veronica but call me Roni.'' she said. She smiled and looked at the girls. She herself was wearing tight jeans and a fitting t-shirt with a little horse on it. She looked at Nate and then the girl who had spoken. Spencer also looked up but at Bethany. ''We dont mind at all.'' he said. Spencer looked at them both. ''Im Spencer'' he said. Nate smiled. ''And Im Nate Roni is my sister. Spencer is my friend.'' he said. He smiled and waited for them to sit down

Kayla waited for the three to speak as she finished asking her question. If they said no, there would be no hard feelings or anything. But, the first of the guys responded, telling them to go ahead and sit, that they didn't mind. She offered him one of her award winning smiles then as she pulled out the chair in front of her. Thanks! She sat down as they all began to introduce themselves.

The blond, Bethany, heard them say that they were welcome to sit and she waited for the girl of their group to move her feet so that she could sit down. Once she did, Bethany sat in the chair across from her sister's. They all introduced themselves and Bethany spoke. Nice to meet y'all. I'm Bethany and this is my sister Kayla. She smiled as she spoke.

Nate smiled and nodded. ''You too, Kayla, Bethany.'' he said. Roni glared at him, she was most certainly not one to make friends. In fact she missed her girlfriends down back at home. Roni looked at them ''Nice to meet you two also'' she said. She noticed her brother looked like he would have the hots for Kayla and Spencer looked like he would have the hots for Bethany. Spencer nodded and then looked at Roni. He looked at Nate. Nate just looked at Roni ''Stop being a little bitch and have fun'' he said. Roni stared at him more like glaring. She looked at them and then saw the waitress she waited for the two girls to take their order if they were ready. Nate and Spencer looked at the waitress and waited patiently for Kayla and Bethany to take their order, if they were ready of course

Kayla and Bethany both noted the not so happy way that the girl spoke to them, though her words seemed polite enough. Then one of the guys, Nate, spoke to Roni and they said nothing. Both of them were very friendly and would like nothing better than to make some new friends. Maybe this girl wouldn't be one that would want to be their friend, though. Her brother and his friend seemed nice enough, though. So, they kept friendly smiles on their kissers. It wasn't long before the waitress came over and asked what they would like. I'll have a BLT and fries with a coke. Kayla ordered first. Then Bethany spoke I'll take a burger and fries with a sprite. Then they looked to the others and waited for them to order. After they had finished, Kayla spoke once again. So, are y'all new around here? I don't think we have ever seen you around town before.

Nate spoke after Bethany. ''Ill have a cheeseburger with fries and a Dr. Pepper'' He looked to Spencer who spoke next. ''Ill take the Burger with fries and a Mountain Dew'' Then Roni looked at the waitress ''May I have a BLT with lays and a coke zero'' she said. The waitress nodded and went to go tell the chef. Nate nodded and Roni spoke ''We are new, never been here before and had to leave cause mom wouldnt allow Nate to live with her anymore and I wouldnt be stuck with my mom for a year before I turn 18'' she said. Nate nodded ''Yep, sorry about my little sisters adittude she just has to get used to living here before she finally accepts it.'' he said. Spencer thought for a moment ''Any good places to live around here?'' he asked them. Roni smiled ''I am so sorry about my act I just miss my girlfriends back home.'' she said. She looked up as the waitress brought their drinks.

Kayla sat there quietly as the three of them ordered their food and drinks. Then she listened as Roni spoke, stating that they were new here and then went on to say why they were here. Kayla just nodded as she finished speaking and then her brother spoke, apologizing for how his sister was acting. Kayla shrugged her slender shoulders. That's fine, it's understandable to need an adjustment period.

Bethany was quiet until after her sister had spoken, and Spencer had asked them if there were any good places to live. Also, Roni apologized and said she missed her friends back home. There are quite a few houses around here that are for sale for pretty cheap. Or there are some apartments downtown. She spoke, they had already bought their ranch before moving here, so they really hadn't checked on a lot of other places. It's fine, Atroe City is a great place to live, though. She spoke reassuringly to Roni with a friendly smile on her lips.

Nate looked at Kayla. He smiled and looked up at the waitress thanking her as she brought their food to the table. First was Kayla's, then Bethany's then Roni's then Spencers and finally Nate's. Roni picked up her BLT and took a bite. She sighed with satisfaction. It felt like it had been ages since she ate! ''So, are there any good places to work around here? It seems im the only one that has responsiblity in the family'' she said, shooting Nate a look. Nate grinned and smiled. ''Are not, who took care of you when you were sick? Thats right me!'' he said. He looked at Kayla and gave her a smiled. Spencer chuckled a little and grinned at Bethany. Roni waited for a reply from one of the girls.

The girls sat quietly for a moment. Then they saw their food approaching. The smell of the food that was placed in front of them caused Kayla's tummy to growl rather loudly. Since they hadn't had breakfast, they were both pretty hungry. And the smell of all the yummy food made it even worse. So, as soon as everyone had their food they dug in. After the first couple of bites, they heard Roni speak. She asked about places to work and it was Kayla who spoke first. Well, it depends on what you're looking for. There was a short pause and then Bethany spoke. There is a pet shop in town here, and the cafe here seems to hire a lot. And then there is a restaurant. Or we are always looking for hands at the ranch. She gave just a few ideas.

Roni smiled at the last idea. ''Id love to work with horses again!'' she said excitedly. Back home she always went out and took care of the horses out in the pasture of her neighbors cause they were never there. She smiled, ''I have expeirience with them, our neighbors were never home and they owned about nine horses and I always took care of them. Til they got home.'' she said. Nate nodded ''She has good ex[experience with horses.'' Nate said. Spencer dug into his burger making a mess on his plate.

Kayla and Bethany both smiled when they heard that the girl would be interested in working on their ranch. They listened as she told them her experience with horses and then they nodded. Bethany spoke first this time. Well, you could always come have a look around the ranch and maybe if you still want to then you'll have a job. She spoke in a friendly manner with a smile on her face. Then Kayla spoke. Yeah, we have about 45 horses plus this year's foals. And we are always getting new stock. Also we have cattle and such. She wanted to let Roni know what she would be getting into to see if she was still interested.

Roni looked at Nate and he nodded. ''Id love to!'' she said. Nate finished his meal and sat back to talk. ''Im sure youll be able to.'' he said. He sat up. ''When we all get done we could follow to the ranch if you want?'' he asked. Spencer just finished his burger when he said this. ''Yeah, this time let Roni drive.'' he said. Roni perked up. Nate hesitated for a moment. ''Alright fine'' he said. Roni finished her BLT and smiled.

Kayla and Bethany both smiled as Roni said that she would love to have a look around. They just nodded then as they finished off their meals and then Nate spoke. Sure, sounds good to me! It was Kayla who spoke. Bethany just smiled and nodded, showing it was fine by her as well. Then they looked up as the waitress brought over their checks. Bethany handed the waitress her debit card to put hers and Kayla's meals on then put a tip on the table, waiting for the other three to be ready as well.

Nate put the amount it cost on the check and left a $3 tip. He got up as ROni walked after Kayla and Bethany with the keys to the big van. That van had been through a lot since 4 years ago. Nate followed and Spencer behind as they readied to follow them. Roni in the front behind the wheel. Spencer in the passenger side and Nate in the back

Bethany waited until the waitress brought her debit card back and then they headed out to the Jeep. They got in and pulled up beside the van they had seen them get in to. Bethany was driving so Kayla rolled down the passenger window and waited to see if they were paying attention. When they did she spoke. It's out of town a little ways, so just follow us. Then they pulled out, making sure that the van was following them.
