Kayla Anderson
Kayla was new to this town, it seemed like an ok place to live, she guessed. Aside from the fact that the crime rate was through the roof. I guess in one way that played in her favor. She was one for throwing big parties on her parents' farm at home and a couple of times they had gotten busted for underage drinking, but here the cops would obviously have something better to do with all of the gangsters, crooks, murderers, and rapists that she had read about in the news paper just this morning. Sure, that made things a little more dangerous for her and all of the other occupants here, but she thought that she could handle herself well enough to be able to live here.
Well, she and her sister were still staying at the motel here in this city, having yet to find a place to call their own. Hell, all of their stuff had not even arrived yet. Then again, their horses and other animals would not be brought here until after they found a decent place where they could keep them. So, until then it was just Kayla and her younger sister... To tell the truth, things seemed so empty without their pets around.
But, it was about breakfast time and Kayla had decided to go to the same cafe that she had been going to since they had arrived here. It was a nice little place, and it had pretty decent food. So, she told her sister that she would be back as she pulled a light jacket on over her tight fitting t-shirt. She then put on an old pair of pretty much worn out tennis shoes and she was out the door.
She got into her Jeep Wrangler and turned the key, it started without hesitation and she pulled out of the parking lot, going in the direction of the cafe. It was not a very far trip, so she made it there in just a couple of minutes. She would have walked, but it was raining a bit and she just didn't feel like getting too wet just right now.
Once she reached her parking spot she pulled the Jeep in to it, put it into park and shut off the key. Then her door was opened and she stepped out, closing the door behind her and then walking in to the cafe. She sat down at a table that seated two and as she did, the familiar waitress walked up to her, she gave her a friendly smile as she ordered a sweet tea and a blueberry muffin. The waitress left to put in her order and she looked around the nearly empty cafe with a look of boredom on her pretty features...

The song on the radio was blasting throughout my f3500 heavy duty raised, steel blue truck as I cruised along through the town. I had My favorite hat on with my heavy tinted sunglasses, my bleach blond hair was in it's usual carefree disarray. It was really freaking hot out today so I just threw on my short sleeved, light blue checked flannel shirt and only buttoned it up halfway, and a pair of my worn down, light blue work jeans and my tan timberlands.
I had already finished my morning rounds through the town and had caught myself dinner. My .45 was resting next to me on the passenger seat as I pulled up in front of the Cafe. My music was still blasting good and loud with the base set high and my windows down, so when I shut the giant truck off everything seemed to get awkwardly quiet.
I snatched my revolver of the passenger seat and tucked it in the back of my jeans and pulled my shirt over it. With my keys clipped to my pant loop I made my way into the cafe. I waved over the the familiar waitress and the dude usually at the counter. As I turned to look around the cafe I noticed it was pretty empty for a weekend, must be a lazy day around here. I laughed a bit to myself. Ever since I had been here I had really gotten to know the people. Of course, they all thought I had my own large farm with a connected car garage on the outskirts of town. Little did they know that I actually lived in my truck.. I had to leave my old town a couple months ago due to complications and had landed myself here. The only problem was that I had no money, yet at least.
As I pulled myself back into reality I noticed a young woman over in a two seat table. Curious as to why there wasn't someone else sitting across from her I made my way over to the small table.
"scuse me, you waitin' fer someone ma'm?"
my irish accent and my southern twang contrasted oddly, causing the few people around to stare funkily at my broad shouldered 6'2 back. I stared down at the woman with steely baby blue eyes as I awaited her response.

Kayla had not been sitting in the nearly deserted cafe for long before she looked around, noticing that it was indeed very empty for this time of day, and especially for a Saturday at this time... And that was not good, after all, Kayla had been hoping to maybe find some company here. It was so dull around here when you didn't really have any friends made yet, and she didn't even have her pets here yet to keep her company. Being an animal lover, that was something big for her as well.
Not just because she loved animals, though, but because she had been raised around them since birth. You see, her parents owned a large horse farm in Texas and she had been raised around lots of horses, dogs, cats, and just about anything else you can think of. So, you could say she had become accustomed to having to do the manual labor and such that came with horses, and she felt quite restless right now without her responsibilities.
Hopefully this would be resolved soon though, she had found a nice farm on the outskirts of town that was just what she and her sister Bethany were looking for. So, she had sent pictures and information to her mom and dad back home to see if they would be willing to loan them the money to buy the property... She was just waiting for a reply, hopefully it would come soon.
Every time the bell above the door would jingle, announcing that someone else was coming in or leaving, Kayla would look towards the door. She would smile in a friendly way to anyone that looked in her direction, though she spoke to no one.
After looking at the door and seeing the blond guy walk in, he didn't look at first to have any interest in talking to her either, so she looked down to her short nails, picking at them in a bored manner... His words kind of startled her at first, as she had not expected him to approach her. Though, as he did, she looked up to him and that beautiful smile made itself at home on her kissers.
No... You can sit down if you wanna...
She didn't know if he would want to sit with her, or if he just wanted the extra chair for some other reason. But she was nice and offered. She would like to have some company any way. After all, she was bored and lonely... And she really would like to meet some new people here.
