Sweetclover

The adolescent wondered aimlessly along the narrow valley that snaked through the center of the Ridges. By now, her coat had accumulated a good deal of burs and cleavers, and her paws were worn and sore. Having left the Stores in hopes of finding Aaka or Legosa, Sweetclover only became lost and disoriented as she delved deeper into the Valley and further from her home.

Having no clue where she was, and feeling exhuasted and raving hungry, the adolescent hybrid followed the large creek. When she reached the end of it, she was astonished to see the waterfall, cascading blankets of water down over a hundered feet through the air. The sound was terribly loud, but she loved it. For a brief moment, her sorrows were drowned away as she gazed at the mezmorizing scene.

Nachi

Having left Cavan to attend with matters, Nachi had a growing scheme nestled in her mind. Stealing. She had tried it once with Sweetclover and failed; and now it seemed she had a new opportunity presented to her.

It happened by chance. She heard from Legosa himself that his offspring were missing, but had been bayed to leave them alone by her brother. Originally, she intended to keep to his commands; but when she chanced upon Sweetclover's scent... it was just too tempting. Quickly developing a sweet, motherly facade, the wolfess padded towards the adolescent.

"Young one, I hear you are lost." Nachi moved boldly forward, her movements almost catlike. She perched herself next to Sweetclover and dipped her head down, "Things are again unsafe, I'm afriad. Are there others with you?"

Sweetclover

With the waterfall roaring in her ears, Sweetclover didn't notice Nachi until she spoke. With a start, the young wolf spun around, eyes wide and fangs half-bared. But all at once, she remembered this fae and relaxed her guard, then went further to cast her ears and tail down in a sad manner, "I'm lost..." And so is my dear sister... Sweetclover thought with a pang, "My siblings are in trouble, and I don't know where my parents are! My sister... she was killed... I am alone and lost."

Nachi

Nachi dipped her head closer to Sweetclover's, portraying a sympathizing gesture, "There is a hard truth which I must tell you... but first, we must escape to safer lands. Will you come with me? I will protect you, little one, and save your brothers and sister. But, you must trust me. Do you?"

Sweetclover

Sweetclover hesitated, for she didn't want to escape and run away while her siblings were in danger and lost. But she herself was lost, and Nachi provided the strong, loving adult figure that she needed to lean on and take advice from. Oh, if only she were a bit older, and a bit wiser... "I trust you. We have to hurry though, to save the others. Where will you take me?"

Aaka

A savage snarl arose from the female for she had chanced upon her daughter but to see another wolf made the mother all the more protective. "You will go nowhere Sweetclover." Her fangs were bared to Nachi, the white mother was in a savage mood and she knew all about this fae. "Get out of here, Loco. If you dare ever come near my family I will kill you and rip every limb from your body. I will feed you to the scavengers and laugh at your death." It wasnt a new side of Aaka but for Sweetclover it was. She growled deep and low at Nachi, her head lowered protecting her throat but raised enough so that she could move qith ease away from the other females sharp fangs. Dancing was Aaka's specialty in fighting. She used quick swift movements and moved like fluid away from her enemies.

Nachi

Nachi bristled with alarm and seething anger, her eyes glistening at the mother. "Such anger!" The wolfess hissed, her body held akwardly low while her tail swished behind her like a perturbed cat's. "Sweetclover and I have a bond..." Nachi continued, her eyes flashing to the adolescent for a moment before snaking back to Aaka's, "Our blood mothers are nothing but savage, heartless beasts who care little for their cubs! You let Clover's sister die... what mother would allow such atrocities? Not a true mother, let me tell you. I'm more fit to be a mother to Clover... isn't that right, darling? Together, we will be mother and daughter... a perfect match! It is fate, is it not?" Her eyes once again shifted to Sweetclover. Her orbs held a frantic, desperate quality to them that seemed to plead with Sweetclover to come to her.

Sweetclover

Sweetclover's eyes grew wide at the sight of her mother, but a blur of fear washed over them when she heard the ferocity of her voice. Still, she pressed her shoulder against Aaka and looked uncertainly to Nachi. "Nachi, don't... you're wrong. Mom would never harm me or my siblings!" Clover had no clue about her mother's past, and the fact that she had killed her own blood before.

Aaka

She snarled and said in a venomous tone "I did not kill Laporta. If I ever see you near my children again Nachi, I will kill you even though my mate is allied to your brother." She growled and nudged her daughter roughly towards the direction of home letting her words sink in to the insane wolfess. She wasnt here to play games.

Nachi

"Yes, you would kill me, wouldn't you? I don't think so." Nachi snapped back. Her eyes drifted to Sweetclover with a look of hurt and despair, "My sweet little Clover... you know you are mine. Your false mother here is trying to confuse you... she would let you die. She would, I know. You are safer with me..." Her voice was choked with emotion, as if she were trying to plead with a child of her own. Her eyes casted to the ground as she spoke her next words, soft and sullen, yet tainted with threat, "I will have one someday. And I won't forget you, Nyx. I will have you again someday, someday doon. Mark my words, someday soon" With a final agonized glare to Aaka, Nachi spun around and vanished in the thick vegetation of the narrow valley of the Breve Ridges.

Sweetclover

She snarled fearfully, crouching against Aaka even more as Nachi spoke. Then, her snarls rose suddenly and she stepped forward with fangs bared, "Nachi, you are a liar! Leave my Mom alone!" By now, the crazed wolfess had disappeared, leaving Aaka and Sweetclover alone. The adolescent drew her ears back once more and looked up at her mother, "She scares me... something about her isn't right..." Clover dropped her head, her eyes misting as she thought suddenly of Laporta, "What will we do..."

Aaka

She turned to her daughter then nudged her softer, her face soft and sweet. "Come on child. Lets go home." She began to trot away and softly she said "If you ever see Nachi again, Clover, I want you to run or attack." With that said she moved on.
