Perergrin
The large wolf, begining to grow old in his years, hunkered down against a leaning boulder and buried his nose deep into his tail for warmth. His grandchilderen were all out exploring, doing this and that. He wasn't quite sure where his own son was, but he knew Tornado was well off. As Peregrine began to doze, his mind drifted on the thoughts of his past; of Ruby, Prue, Twister, Night, Dark Star, and all those that he had lost.
Kira
She had caught a scent earlier in the day that was so familiar. As she padded through Breve Ridge's her fur which was many shades of brown blew in a small wind. She sniffed the air once more after pausing and scanned the area with her sky blue hued eyes. When she realized the scent was close she continued on at a quicker pace until she spotted an old friend. "Peregrin..." She said stopping nearby him and smiling softly. "Good to see you again." She said as she wagged her tail. Kira hadn't seen anyone she knew latley, and that included Bandit, Star, and Night. She had wondered if Bandit and Star were still with the snow leopards around here some where, but Night she hadn't a clue where he'd be.
Peregrine
Peregrine's eyes flashed open and he picked himself up, blinking away the sleepiness as focused on Kira. At first, it took his startled mind a moment to register it, but after a second, his teeth were bared in a smile. "Kira...? Kira! Indeed, it is wonderful to see you" Peregrine stood, his tail swaying happily from side to side as he looked his friend over, simply amazed that he was actually seeing her. "I thought this day would never come, my friend." Peregrine cast his eyes about once, half expecting to see Night and the others behind her. But with a slightly heavy heart, he realized that they were not around. Afraid that something bad may have happened, the wolf decided not to mention them, in fear of upsetting Kira.
Kira
She wagged her tail and gave him a friendly nuzzle. "Yes the same here as well. I didn't think I'd see anyone I knew again. Bandit, Star, they aren't around it seems... hopefully they are doing well. And Night.. I am not sure but I hope he's ok." She looked at the sky for a moment then to Peregrin and changed the subject. She indeed missed Bandit, Star, and Night but it wouldent do well to dwell on it. "So how has life been treating you Peregrin?" She asked with a smile hoping he had been well recently.
Peregrine
Upon hearing their names, his bit of hope crumbled. So they weren't with her? He held a bit of optimism that perhaps they were around somewhere, but he didn't linger on the subject when Kira changed it. "It goes quite well. I had a fall a while ago.." At this, the wolf gave a short laugh. It had been a rather serious fall, but on a better note, it helped reunite him with his blood family. "I have another grandaughter, Snowy Owl. I've also gotten in touch with my son and other grandson." Peregrine announced, speaking of Tornado and Vivek. "How about yourself?"
Kira
"Well at least your ok." She said giving a smile. She then listened to what he said and perked up her ears. "Oh wow thats great Peregrin." She then thought for a moment and answered his question. "I've been well. Though like I said I havent really seen anyone I knew. But I am glad I came across you. Now I just have to hope to see Bandit, Star, and Night again..." She said bringing up the three names again. She looked to Peregrin. "So where do you reside now?" She asked wondering if he lived in a pack somewhere or on his own.
Peregrine
His auds pricked up at their names again as their images flashed through his mind. "Well... I sort of reside here, at the Ridges. But I'm also welcomed at the Pyrola Fields, where Vivek and his mate live." The wolf pointed out, then added with a smile, "If you'd like, I could take you there. I know they'd accept you. Aava; Vivek's mate, is very kind."
Kira
She listened to him and gave a thoughtful nod. "Ok.. sounds good but would you be staying there as well or do you plan on returning here?" She would asked calmly and curiously.
Peregrine
Peregrine furrowed his brows a bit, "I'm not sure." For a moment, the wolf fell into silence as he gave her question serious thought. Then, his head perked up and his ears swiveled to a far-off sound. "Tornado! He is hunting at the Canyon. Would you like to join in?" He had just caught sound of his son's hunting call; it seems that Tornado had located some prey.
