Chazerath
A leopard with a pelt of pale tan fur was seen entering the terra. Golden eyes flecked with the deep brown undertones glinted in mid-afternood light as he made his way across jagged rocks and large boulders. He found a large somwhat flat rock and cautiously laid upon it. His pale coat contrasted against the dark brown speckled fur across all but his chest, as he glanced around, keeping a sharp eye. Lavished in sunlight, the mid-aged leopard slowly fell into unconsciousness, sleeping under the sun.
Naught but another hour later he awoke from his slumber, now diligent. He lept with great integrity a span of 20 ft. onto a flat land of dirt and scarce dried grass. He observed the empty scene.
Nachi
Traveling free of guilt from the death she had caused, the wolfess loped easily over the land, staying to firmer and less rocky paths. Her fur was light grey with tinges of ten and cinnamon here and tere. Her face was petite and angelic looking, but it couldn't better contrast the truth of her nature.
She had scented some feline on the wind, but had never met a Snow Leopard before. Sniffing about, she tried to locate him...
Chazerath
Sensitive ears pick up traces of movement in the nearby vacinity. A calm zephyr carries the wolfesses' sent to him, causing his fur to bristle. Last wolf he met had done he and his sister nothing but wish to do him part, he had been an evil beast......thus he expected this wolf nearby to be the same. Glimmering golden eyes now full of cold hatred where narrowed with caution, tail flicking and twitching. He searched for sight of the 'betraying beasts'.
Nachi
Scent hadn't truely betrayed the feline's large size, or Nachi would have had second thoughts about her searching. The flicker of his tail caught the attention of her wolfish eyes, for movement is keen to the canids. She pressed on a short distance until she could fully see him. Nachi's body went rigid in alarm and she cautiously averted her gaze from his own, from pure instinct. She was just not sure what to make of this huge feline!
Chazerath
The large feline glowered down from his perch at the wolf. He demanded with a curious tone. "Who are you? Have you come here to harm me or my siblings?" He was very protective, especially over his sister. He then growled down. "If you are here on no such terms, I will not kill you." Even if it seemed like a threat, it was more like a blessing. He was truly a huge feline, even for a Snow Leopard!
Nachi
She eased her light eyes upon him as he spoke, though her hunched back showed her fear clearly. "I don't intend to harm you or your sister." she replied carefully, slowly. "I'm only curious, that's all." Nachi had great respect for the larger species and their strength, but reserved none of this respect for her own kind. Try as she might, she never could find another 'family', so to say, like the one she had when she was younger. But if she couldn't find a family that suited her, she would just travel about and fill her needs by getting acquainted with these other creatures. Or at least learning about them. "Have you killed wolves before?" she questioned suddenly, looking into his eyes now, "Or have you any friend wolves?"
Chazerath
"Silence." He said as he observed the obvious frightened femme. He had looked straight into the wolfesses' eyes while she spoke, and could tell there was no lie in her eyes. She had no cruel intent. He then decided to answer her questions. He was curious, but avoided showing it with stricter form in his replies. "I usually have no buisness with wolves. They leave me alone and I do them no harm. However....dogs..." He added the word 'dogs' sharply, as if he was truly disgusted with the whole thoughts. It was obvious they were truly enemies of his. He looked and answered the second question. "As for friendship, I have no relations with wolves to this point, but I do not object to one." He looked at her warily, but in a way he was asking for a further friendship. This was far from his usual actions, for he was much different since this move. Protective, yet, open.
Nachi
Her ears came down slightly at the first demand, then slowly rose back up as he spoke. "I share your loathing for the dogs." she replied. It was true she had never really met any dogs face to face, but a sinister hatered, a barrier to them, was embeded deep in her. "I am Nachi." she said at length after a moment of pause, pushing for a conversation. She too wanted a friendship with this powerful creature, to fill the void of her losses.
Chazerath
"Than this is a good meeting." He replied after hearing her hatred of dogs as well. "It is....good..to meet you, Nachi. I am Chazerath, but you may call me Chaz." He nodded to her in respect. He had never really met the aquiantance of a wolf, and did not know how to react. All the same, this friendship, he felt, may give him more knowledge of the valley. He then asked, trying to make a conversation. "Nachi, if you do not mind my asking, where in the valley do you reside?" He had a interested look as he lept with great force off the boulder to speak with Nachi eye to eye. Of course, in reality, he was bigger than the wolf and would not be directly 'eye to eye' as the saying goes.
Nachi
Her back was less arched now as the initial fear began to ease away. "Chaz." she repeated lightly, commiting the name to memory. Upon his jumping down, she took a swift, unconscious step back. Such a large creature Chazerath was! Attempting to regain her former, less-intimidated posture, she responded to the feline, "I live quite a distance from here in a heavily forested area. A wolf pack called the Emerald Pines. I don't know if I'll stay there much longer though... I've never really felt much kinship to my own kind. Besides my brother, Cavan." she pointed out, averting her gaze for a moment. Again she looked up at Chaz, "What about your sister? What is her name; she must live around here, right?"
Chazerath
"Cavan..." He trailed off, thinking deeply. Surely he had heard that name before. But of course not, he hadn't met any other wolves.... He then sat down in a comfortable position, and replied. "My sister, Lopis`, lives up here as well. She is somewhere about right now, and I do have another brother, but he is lost at the time being..." He rolled his eyes and sighed, then asked. "Perhaps you'd be staying here for a bit...?" He trailed off, uncertain how she would reply.
Nachi
Her ears perked up slightly, hopeful of the invitation. "My alpha is far too harsh-ruling for my tastes. This place suits me, I think." she looked around at the alien terrain, for she had never really lived around mountainous areas. "Yes, I'll stay a bit." she confirmed before looking to Chaz, "What kind of animals do you hunt?"
Chazerath
"Well," He paused a moment. "I usually catch the Bahral, rabbits, small things like that. Sometimes larger prey." He looked sort of odd, after all, he was so big but caught so little animals! Other than the Mountain Sheep, of course. He added. "I would go for big prey all the time, but there was hardly any food at our old lands. Here it could be a different story." He did not smile, but his tail was curled in a way that showed he was smiling inside, or at least glad for new company. He was not the type that smiled very often, especially around strangers.
Nachi
She nodded slowly to show her understanding. She wasn't sure what a bharal was, but figured it was something small. "So you're new here, right? I've lived in the valley all my life, but have never traveled the mountains or anything." she looked around in silent awe before speaking again to Chaz, sensing his more elated attitude now, "You must be pretty sure-footed to live in this type of place. So many drop-offs and narrow places."
Chazerath
He nodded, glady excepting such a compliment without bluff. "Yes, it is very dangerous for those whom do not have sturdy grip as well as agile balance," He paused, but reassuringly added "That, of course, does not mean you can't hanle it, I suppose." He looked to her after glancing around a moment. He stated "I am going to call for my sister. I understand my...'howl' as you would call it, will not sound like yours. Forgive me if I frighten you." He took a deep breath and paused for a moment, and without warning a long, bone-chiling, spine-shivering, ear-peircing scream came with a strong few seconds of air. He explained. "If my sister is nearby, I want you to meet her." He sat upright, rigid and tall, authority was placed upon him by even the slightest detail. His tail flicked a bit as he waited for the 'foolish feline' that he called his sister.
Nachi
Her ears went back in a flash after he emitted such a shrill call. It was indeed a very chilling, erie sound that shook her to the depths of her soul. Such a calling made her yearn to howl along, but she quickly pressed the urge out of her mind. She had never really howled before, although times came when she felt the disire too. "That was quite a call." Nachi pointed out, "And I'm interested in meeting her."
Chazerath
He nodded, it seemed to be his sort of "Thank you." Without needing the use of words. "As for my sister," He grumbled. "She is about here somewhere. Just a moment ago I saw her." He straightened up, his height in full was intimidating, but he did not use this to do to Nachi or flatter himself, merely to take a comfortable postition. All his life he had truly been dominant, over all of the leopards in the terrra nearly, large or small, young or old. Very few, unless the naught had their wits about them, would challenge him. He didn't think of it as dominance like others did however, respect for eachother (mainly the largest and fiercest) as well as orders or to one another was the only 'friendship' he'd ever known. He asked her "Does your kind emitt such a noise?"
Steel gray male moved quickly into the lands searching....he didnt know what he was searching for. He wanted something to do.....someone to talk to him. But he doubted anyone would stay near him once they learned his nam,e....
Chazerath
The colossal leopard's auds pinned as he turned from Nachi to face the unwelcome, unknown one. He hissed, towering over the brute. "Who are you, and by what means have you come across this land?" His eyes narrowed, tail flicking, features of his face dark. He had not been so mean, at least he thought, to Nachi, but she was a femme, and although femmes are just as dangerous, if not more, "territorial rights to this land are claimed by all, but that does not give you the right to intrude." He stated. He then demanded, tone impatient. "What is your buisness here?" The leopard jumped up upon a boudler, now staring down at the newcomer. He wished no ill intent, but trusted no one at the time, other than his new friend Nachi as well as his siblings.
The Hunted Ghost Walker
Hunted jumped and growled at the leopard knowing fully well he couldnt take him on alone. That was why he was relived when he saw Ghost Walker and Moon Spirit show up.
Ghost Walker the tawny cougar stood in front of Hunted protectively "He has no business with you. Why should you care?"
An angry Moon Spirit, a white she wolf, trotted to them her banner held high. "Ghost Walker shut up. Hunted quite being afraid. There is nothing to fear." Hunted had never been brave. Bravery was for his sister. Moon Spirit stalked close to the leopard and said dangerously "Unless you plan to take us all on back down Now" she wasnt playing and you could see it on her face. She had wolves to train for battle. Not stand here settling small quarrels between males and there egos
Chazerath
He got right in her face, barring his sharp, feling fangs. "I don't plan on wasting my energy on you." He spat, glaring, but at the same time he had aquired a small smile. He looked to the cougar. He enjoyed taunting some, but usually did not fight. "It is my buisness if he chooses to intrude so close to where I slumber." He responded in a nicer tone to the Cougar, but it was still full of a temper. He spoke to all of them. "I would easily take you all down, but I know better than-" His sentence was cut short. His sister, Lopis` had just tripped and fell off a huge boulder straight into the mess, right between him and the 'enemy'. She shook her head, dizzy after the ten foot fall, and tried to gather herself together.
Chaz sighed, shaking his head and looking down, his sister had messed things up again. "WHY? WHY? WHY! WHY!?Must you always make a fool of yourself?" He held a scolding, enthusiastic tone in his voice, he had completely forgotten about the others.
She responded, still dizzy. "It's not my fault! This boulder just popped out of nowhere...really...." She trailed off, still shaking her head from dizzyness.
He rolled his eyes, "Just forget it!" And stormed back to Nachi, not wanting to fight in the first place, only wishing to know why he was here. It didn't matter anyways, he had enough on his paws.
Lopis` picked herself up, She was only two, so she was still a little clumbsy and not sure-footed like her brother. The large Snow leopard Chaz could have easily killed off two or three wolves, maybe more, for he was extremely large for his species and in his own ideal battlegrounds. But when put against wolves with a mixture of his close relative the cougar, it would have been a odd, unpredictable match. Lopis` whispered loudly. "Sorry about my brother, he is over-protective and sort-of mean to newcomers, but he is nice after a while." She smiled. "I am Lopis`."
She looked to moon spirit. "Hey! I know you! You and Elena were at Pike's Lake. Hi!" She added cheerily. She was much nicer that her brother, and did not have quite a temper.
The Hunted Ghost Walker
Aaka moved to them and snapped at Moon Spirit "The fights now at the Ruins. Be there or never show your face to me again" nodding to Lopis Aaka turned away and trotted to the ruins shaking with fury and anticipation. The fight was now.
Moon Spirit shook her head and said softly "Sorry for my sisters rude behavior. This is why I hate it when she declares war." smiling she sat down knowing she would have to go to the ruins soon. "I see you met our other brother Moonsword. No need to be afraid of him. Just dont make him mad." she added laughing
Lopis`
Lopis' eyes widened. "So many siblings you have!" She gaped, amazed. She then smiled. "It is ok, I have a brother." She rolled her eyes. "I know what you mean." She then nodded her head, a serious look on her face. "Oh don't you worry, I'll make sure not to make him angry!" She then looked to them, confused. "War? What is War ? It is such a funny word!" She asked, curious. "It doesn't sound to good, but, your sister seems to like it." She glanced at Aaka as she dissapeared. "Can you tell me what it is before you go?" She asked, excited.
The Hunted Ghost Walker
Moon smiled and nodded "War is basically a big battle against two enimies who think one must fall in order to gain something" her smile broadened "I have Aaka Moonsword Damon and Stefan for siblings. Then I have younger and older siblings from different litters."
Lopis`
"Wow." She said in response to both remarks by the wolfess. She thought a moment, then commented. "I wouldn't want to be in war, why would you want to kill in order to gain anything?" She paused, thinking harder. "In war, you would not triumph, death would. And that is no gain in my eyes.....or anyone elses, for it isn't your gain." She turned to walk away, then added. "Unless, you're goal is merely cruel killing? Then you are no better than the humans that poached me, or the hunters that poach you." She had a saddened look in her eyes, but dissmissed it. Her head hung low to the ground. "That is no way to stop something. Not at all."
Nachi
The she-wolf stood tensely near where Chazerath was, watching the others with wide, unruly eyes. Her temperment and reactions to things was a bit different from most normal wolves, so it was terribly difficult to understand what she might be thinking. One thing was for sure though; her respect for Chaz was growing the more she saw his power. As he walked off a ways, she followed to speak with him.
"You're brave." she glanced back at the she-leopard, "So that's your sister then? She has such a differnt... personality." Nachi commented, not sure what to make of it. Her fierce, light eyes turned from Lopis' to Chazerath with a fond idolism shinning in them. "I believe I've been in a war once." her head hung slightly, "I certainly didn't like it, and it made nothing better for either side I assure you."
Chaz and Lopis`
He nodded to her again, surprised by such a straight out compliment, but he hid the astonishment. He had never had someone compliment him directly. "...thank...you." He said at last
As she commented about his sister, he nodded, a grim face returning. "Yes. Quite." Was all he managed to say. He couldn't put into words how he loved, needed, but despised and was embarrassed in one sentence. "She...is like." He paused, then thought it best not to speak of his comment. "..yes. Much different." He merely said. He was going to say how she was like a wolf, but to think of them as a collective being was quite a mistake. They all were different and each had a different style. You could not collect them as one.
Lopis looked to the wolfess and smiled. "Really?" At the wolfesses last coment, however, her eyes softened. "I see. Well, if it is true what you say," She paused, Chaz was eyeing her warily. She knew to choose words wisely or risk a swat at the head. She didn't mean to insult the wolf, but it sounded as if she doubted her. "Certainly what you say is true, and that means that war is worthless. Why do they fight, and what for?"
Nachi
Nachi turned to Lopis' pleased that she leopard was paying attention to her now as well. As much as she shied from her own kind, Nachi relished in the company of non-wolvines. "To me, well..." the fae trailed off, trying to sum up her feelings, "For most reasons I would say it is worthless. Unless of course war is thrown on you and you must fight it to survive." Now she shook her head, "I don't even know what I'm talking about."
She looked back as if she were expecting someone to be standing there. "My brother," Nachi began as she turned her eyes back to Lopis', "He likes war, if that's what it's called. He wants to kill my other brother and his new mate. He wants me to help, but I've left that bloodly path long ago."
Chaz and Lopis`
Lopis piped up. "It is good that you did! Now you are with us, and can live here like a leopard!" She was gently swatted by Chaz in a somewhat playful manner, and he merely said. "Lopis`, hush." He then turned to Nachi with much disregared for the mutinous faces his sister was creating behind him. He remarked. "I see, you have some trouble in your past, no doubt. It is the same for us, although we have never tried to kill eachother." Chaz grinned as he saw from the corner of his mouth Lopis mouthing the words 'I think he is after me!' Then giggling to herself. He then had a serious concerned face. "Tell me, would this hostility against your other brother threaten you?" He looked upon her and waited to see what she would say.
Nachi
She flashed a smirking grin to Lopis' as she saw her mocking features and wordless phrase. Her attention flickered between brother and sister, trying to appease both by changing her features from serious to humorous. It was akward to say the least, but Nachi wanted to pay attention to both at the same time.
She had given a gleeful nod to Lopis's first question and now answered Chazerath's. "I'm not sure; I never thought it would. Most of my 'family' has died, so there is only me and two brothers. I would only be in danger if Cavan was killed and my other brother Jais, and his family perhaps, came after me in retaliation." she shrugged slihgtly, "I would certainly help Cavan if his life was on the line, but I don't want to get mixed up in this war business unless Cavan needs me."
Chaz and Lopis`
Chaz nodded. "And it is good that you don't wish to nose about in his buisness, it sounds somewhat sinister." He did not mean to put it in a way to offend Nachi, but he wasn't used to being polite and sweet like Lopis`. He couldn't be sweet or polite if he wanted Lopis` to eat and not go hungry, at least back at the old lands....He asked, hearing how she spoke of her brother dying. "You....wish him dead?" He asked. He was unaware of much the Nachi felt, for her eyes and features and motioned explained nothing.
Lopis` gaped at it all, not speaking, unsure what to say. She didnt want to risk being whapped again.
The Hunted Ghost Walker
Hunted had been about to say something when Ghost Walker let out a loud snarl and turned and fled to the ruins. Moon Spirit to turned to leave but nudged Hunted "Stay or go? Choose quick. Aakas calling NOW." Hunted sat a moment. He hated being around his sister The Hunter in a fight. She had what he called blood lust. And she didnt quit for days on end. Shuddering he said "Um....I....uh" he didnt know what to say. He looked at the cats and other wolf for help. He didnt want to look like a wuss in Moon SPirits Eyes...."I'll stay" he said softly
Nachi
The fae looked down for a moment with her eyes slightly narrowed in deep thought. Then she looked back to Chaz, "I don't know what I want. I will stick by Cavan's side... but, yes, I want him dead." She finally decided, speaking of Jais. She had murdered her aunt Quamia, so why not Jais? Well, only if he crossed her path... She shook her head, as if physically clearing the thoughts away.
"I would like to learn to live like you do." she said suddenly, eyeing them both adoringly before glancing over once at The Hunted. She watched him with a peculiar look in her eyes, trying to figure him out. Nachi despised her own kind and would never get use to them again, yet... there was some room for liking.
Chaz and Lopis`
Chaz raised his 'eyebrows' at her wish, but answered her with a calm, collected tone of voice. "Stay long enough....and perhaps, only with time, you may be able to learn." He did as much of a smile he could manage, more than he had smiled to anyone ever, but it was a mere sheepish grin. He wasn't sure if he should be so open to an 'outlander' but felt that Nachi was different than othersl; other wolves of course. He based that off of the group over yonder. He felt she would somehow be....a more....reliable and quick-learning 'student'.
Lopis` beamed brightly, perking up with a slight arch in her back, stretching herself. Before her brother could stop her she yelled. "OOH! OOH! I could teach you how to attack leaves!" She decided to show off a bit, so she demonstrated on her brother. He pushed her off right after her pounce, but she remained on her feet and ready to attack anything else she saw move.
"I am not a leaf." He said, laughing under his breath.
Nachi
Her head lifted and her tail swayed just slightly from side to side, "I would be grateful to learn." she then turned to Lopis', "Alright, show me how to attack leaves!" her eyes shown excitement but the rest of her facial features didn't hint to any emotion at all.
Chaz and Lopis`
She smiled "Okay!" She ignored the expressionless face of Nachi, as she did often to her brother when he was mad. She waited patiently until the wind stirred some, then began to bound about, jumping on all the moving ones she could. Finally, a large one came and hit her in the face, and she bit down on it, taking her deadly hind claws as she laid on her back, shredding it to pieces. "It'sh harder than it looksh." She said, half of the leaf still in her mouth. The stem stuck out of her maw in an odd manner, and her cocked head and bright, funny eyes made even Chaz laugh.
"Killing leaves wont aid her when winter sets in, will it?" He asked, a smirk on his face. She shook her head, the leaf still her mouth. "It wont aid her in the winter, but itsh lotsh of fun in the shummer." She laughed, the leaf still in her mouth she attacked another one, with the same resentless effort.
Nachi
She watched Lopis' with a tilted head in curiosity. Her tail waved faintly, then she sprung upon a moving leaf and snatched it between her jaws. Nachi flipped her head back, leasing the bitten leaf into the air before springing up and snapping for it again. The wolfess laughed out loud, finding even this simple little game quite entertaining; she had been deprived of much play when she was younger, so she was fully enjoying herself now.
Chaz and Lopis`
Chaz shook his head, a brief grin appearing on his face. He looked to the sky, squinting from the sun, to see a falcon flying in the distance. His vision turned back down now, wind whipping his fur, to watch intently at the wolf's entertainment.
Lopis` smiled, and tried Nachi's tactics now. She threw the leaf up in the air, let it fly a bit, then would leap up and snatch it with her paw. She felt her stomach rumble violently, and settled her paws to the ground, leaf still clutched in her front left paw. She looked to Chaz with the 'you're my big brother so you should fend for me' look and whined slightly. "Im Huuuungry!" She scowled, but then smiled and inquried with excitement. "OOh!!! Could we take Nachi on a hunt!?!?"
Nachi
Nachi gave a light growl in play, grasping the leaf again and shaking her head wildly. She sprung for another one, repeating the same process over again. Then she turned her glistening eyes up to Chazerath and flashed a sheepish grin, feeling a bit embarrassed by her pupish antics.
"I would love to go on a hunt." she encouraged hopefully, again resuming the peculiar expressionless face, where everything save her shining eyes were devoid of emotion.
