Timber

The boarder collie sauntered in with his head held low. His fur was ragged and matted with burs; very unkept. But he didn't have the heart to worry about himself right now when Shimmer was on his mind. What had happened to her? After a while, the collie circled around and laid down near an outcropping of rocks and fell asleep.

Shimmer

She walked through the brush and then she saw Timber sleeping. Instantly her tail wagged very rapidly. She darted out over to Timber and nudged him to wake him. "Timber!" She barked. "Timber wake up!"

Timber

His eyes fluttered open, and for a moment he knew he must be dreaming... right? But an unstoppable grin spread over his muzzle as his tail began to wave back and forth. His long search was over, and he knew this was no dream! "Shimmer!" he barked in an esctatic tone. "Is that really you?"

Shimmer

She yipped happily and nuzzled Timber as a greeting. "I missed you so much. Im sorry for being gone so long..."

Timber

He nuzzled her as well, hardly able to believe he had found her. He was almost convinced she had been killed by some wolf or wild dog. "It only matters that you are back!" Timber replied, his tail waving quickly. "I was so sure you had... been, well, killed." he admitted a bit glumly. It reminded him of the horrible news that Shimmer probably didn't know about yet. "Have you been to the Ranch yet...?" he had to find out whether she knew or not.

Shimmer

She smiles. "Its ok. I was gone for a long time... to long." She then tilts her head in a curios manner. "Not not yet... why? I was headed there but I picked up your scent on the way so I followed it to here."

Timber

He dipped his head down a bit, looking away from Shimmer. "Nak, Cronus, and Elsa... they all..." he swallowed hard before looking back to Shimmer. "They've been murdered."

Shimmer

For a minute she paused not wanting to belive TImber's words but then after the moment of shock her ears and tail drooped. "Murdered...?" She says with a sigh more of a statement then a question.

Timber

"They will die next time they step foot on our land." he vowed, speaking of the ones who killed his family. He hated to bring up such a horrible topic just after meeting Shimmer again, but it had to be said. The collie forced a half-hearted smile, "We'd best get back home now. Mom and Dad will be very happy to see you again!" he announced, trying to sound more enthused. But his heart hung heavy. Timber padding slowly to the Ranch.

Shimmer

She nods. "Yes they will." She says sadley. She sighed and shook her head. But the next thing Timber said had made her perk her ears up a bit. "I cant wait to see them!" She says in a happyer voice but still felt the sadness from the loss she had just heared of. She began following Timber to the ranch. She was so glad to see him and sad about the news.
