Liseli
Completely ignorant of how dangerous this area might be for a lone wolf of her tiny size, the white vixen lay at the edge of the stream, talking to someone only she could see. Eyes would be drawn unwillingly to the black lightning-shaped mark on her muzzle, which drew the gaze to the dusty-green eyes: eyes that seemed to be glazed, as though the real world was nothing to her.
Liseli was chatting along merrily to her sister, Sauda, who had been dead now for many moons, and whose image only she could see. Well, dear, I've missed you. Where did you go all this time?
Kiki
Kiki heard Liseli's voice and curiously walked closer. She watched the wolf from in the bushes. Her green eyes were fixed on Liseli. "Hello?" The cat finally said in a soft, friendly tone.
Liseli
Though her mind was wandering enough that she saw her sister again, she hadn't yet gone so far that she didn't hear things from the real world. So Kiki's voice reached her easily, and she turned her head, though she couldn't spy the cat in the bushes. She wasn't sure what to think, but her voice was guardedly friendly. Hello! Come out, then! Who are you?
Kiki
The cat walked gracefully out of the thick foliage, watching Liseli the whole time. "I am Kiki of the Sombra Cazadores. Who are you?" She replied politely, though cautiously.
Liseli
Liseli gave a soft smile and a graceful bow, voice soft and diplomatic. I am Liseli... and this is my sister, Sauda. She gestured back to the image only visible to her, completely certain that Kiki would be able to make out Sauda's black pelt and the white lightning-shaped mark on her chest, and two beautiful jade eyes.
It never occured to Liseli that, before her sister's death, one of the eyes had been gouged out, one of the ears torn from her head. She'd... regrown them, of course. Her rampaging mind sought valiantly for reasons, coming up with ridiculous impossibilities as these to prove that her dead sister now stood before her.
Soleil
Why was the white wolf talking as if another stood beside her? There was only her and the cat, who was called Kiki. The weimaraner and grey wolf mix was crouched in the foliage, hidden from view as she observed the pair converse. She tilted her head in confusion, narrowing her eyes as she tried to grasp the reason why Liseli was...well, seemingly insane.
In fact, Soleil herself must be insane. For her heritage did not bode well for her to speak to one of Aspen Grove without fighting. Her mother, Kyrene, a weimaraner that was nice, but driven by power had fallen for the bait a certain wolf had set. Not only was he rumoured to have at least 50 offspring, but was also one of the most notorious of the canines in Sparkling Creek. You've guessed it. Her father was Vicious.
Soleil didn't dislike her mother, but she didn't like her either. She had never met her father, but she didn't like him. Not one bit. She hated the Haunters as well and that was what had driven her to take her life into her own paws and set out to start her own life. And she had an idea of what she wanted to do. Join the Haunters enemies. Stand for the good of the valley. Which ment, take the side of Aspen Grove and their allies.
Taking a deep breath, Soleil revealed herself, giving a warm smile as she said in a gentle voice, "Hello, Liseli, Kiki. I am Soleil."
Liseli
The wind brought a new scent to her nares only a fraction of a sceond before Soliel spoke. She turned her face over to Soliel, smiling. Hello, dear. Won't you join us? We were just having a lovely chat, weren't we Sauda? Again her dusty green orbs turned to the bank, focussing on a form no one else could see.
Soleil
Soleil cocked her head, confused at what Liseli said. "Erm, Who's Sauda?" She came forward, tail wagging gently behind her, as she looked round for any other who Liseli could be indicating, but found none. "My name's Soleil, Daughter of...Err..." Now was probably not the right moment.
Liseli
Soliel's words made a light laugh burst from Liseli, and she pointed over in the direction of the river. My sister, silly. She's right over there. Say hello, Sauda.
In her eyes, Sauda spoke a polite, friendly hello and introduced herself. Then Liseli spoke again. And I am Liseli. Well met, Soliel, daughter of Errr... and a small giggle left her, though there was nothing mean-spirited about it. She assumed that Soliel was merely shy.
Soleil
Soleil smiled, her tail wagging, as she thought it best to play along. "Oh, Hello Sauda." Then, the smile faded. Prehaps now would be a good time. Laughing half-heartedly, she looked up at Liseli, "Well, My parents...They are..." Brace yourself, "Kyrene and Vicious." Her gaze immediately dropped to the ground as she seemed to shrink. "I...I don't want to be like them!" she suddenly shouted, her eyes glancing back up, wide and fearful. "They're cruel, like my siblings. I can't do it. I won't. Please, help me."
Liseli
The names Kyrene and Vicious definitely awakened some unfavorable feelings in the white fae, and try as she might she couldn't resist raising a lip to flash a fang in disgust. So... that was it. Soliel had been sent to assassinate her.
But just as quickly, she was startled by Soliel's denial of any desire or intention to be like the rest of her family. Her cloudy green eyes held Soliel's, watching, weighing... and finally...
The white tiara dipped in a nod, answering a question only she could hear, and she let her voice flow forth gently. Easy, easy. Calm, my friend. No need to fear. I've learned not to judge wolves by their parents. After all, her pups were the product of Aloysious, a creature as foul and demonic as Vicious, and they'd turned out fine. Or, most of them had. All but Malai.
The old sadness remained in her eyes for an instant before she managed to cover it up, and she trotted back toward the river, indicating that Soliel and Kiki should follow. Laying down next to her "sister", she spoke. So... what is it that you want me to do for you?
Soleil
When the fang was shown by Liseli, Soleil's heart began to beat frantically and she tensed, ready to spring away. However, she soon relaxed, most relieved that she wasn't about to be slaughtered. With little encouragment, Soleil followed the white wolf towards the river and sat beside her, gazing intensly at the ground between them.
"Well, I..." she paused, her face contorting, "I hadn't really thought about it. I was more concerned you would kill me when I told you of my parents." She then looked up at Liseli, the smallest flicker of fear in her eyes. "I just want to be away from them. Somewhere I am safe. Somewhere you don't fear for your life and don't have to worry that your the daughter of Vicious...I..I just want a home."
Liseli
Liseli gave the young wolfess a soft smile, one that was almost reminiscent of her better days, before Sauda's death, before the many tradgedies that seemed to stalk their pack. There now, dear. Don't be afraid. While we at my pack have no reason to like Vicious... we never turn away one who would live peaceably among us. A child cannot be held responsible for her parent's actions, as I know very well. You may come with me home to Aspen Grove. I will speak on your behalf.
That might not be very reassuring, since Liseli was slightly crazy, but she was still beta, and Vestige usually took her advice. If anyone could gain Soliel entrance to the pack, it was Liseli.
Soleil
Soleil dropped into a submissive posture and her heart rate increased, but when Liseli smiled, the adolesent's ears slowly perked. She listen to the wolfess and slowly a smile filtered onto her face. "Oh," she began, "thank you so much!" Soleil grinned, relaxing and her tail began to wag behind her. She was so glad, finally she would be free of the evil that seemed to be heaped upon her, and could take her own life into her hands...er...paws.
Liseli
Liseli smiled and shook her head at Soliel's thanks, indicating it was not needed. With a heave, she got to her feet, including Kiki in her invitation. Well, why waste time? Let's be off, my dears. Vestige will be glad to see me, I am sure, and glad to see Sauda again. With all the joy spreading around, it will be difficult for him to be defensive that you once belonged to Vicious. Once belonged, because Soliel had just been adopted by the kind-hearted Liseli, and once someone belonged to Liseli, it was for forever. Maybe unadvisable due to her wandering mind, but it was an affection that Soliel would never be without.
