Shika

The small she-cat pads in. Now the size of an adolesent but not quite the size as an adult . She had no idea that wild cats were way larger then her. Her sent was of the Aspen Grove pack but she had decided to explore when she no one was around and hoped that if she went back later the others would be there. She had always heared Aquila and the others talk of large cats. When she first met Aquila he had been afraid her mother was large but she had explained she wasnt. Shika had never found her mother which was why she stayed with the Aspen Grove pack since she was a kitten and she was great freinds with Aquila, Luna, Nike, and Soraya. She wanted to perhapes meet a big cat for herself though she knew to be careful for Aquila was even afraid of themand she also knew to watch out for dogs and wolves she didnt know for she had learned that befor she met Aquila down town. She wished she wouldent have lost her freinds though. She hadent seen them since her other freind Blizzard's death. She didnt have any other freinds that were cats but she hadent hung around down town when she was a kitten to long because she had lost her mother and met Aquila and went with him. She knew that other cats usually didnt hang out with each other anyway but she knew some did though. She smiles and rubs up against a rock purring and then the small she-kiten or adolesent traveld up one of the mountians sniffing the air for a big cat or danger and always staying alert like all cats. She meows lightly and continues.

*Lynx*

Just over a ridge, the voices of two young lynx can be heard.

"Stop! Let go of my leg!" one voice cries out. The sound fighting ensues for a moment before a second voice speaks out, "Haha, pinned you again! Aahhh!" Again, there is more scuffling around and fighting before a young lynx comes shooting over the top of the ridge, running as fast as he can. With a powerful leap, the young cat dives into some bushes and hides. It isn't long before the second one races over the ridge and begins to look around. She suddenly notices Shika and comes to a stand still. Her intense gaze seems to be sizing the cat up, wondering what to make of her.

Shika

She was astounded by the size and was a bit nervous but slowly prowled towards the young visable linx. "Wow your big for a kitten!" She said aloud.

*Lynxes*

If Shika had run the lynx would have gone after her for a kill; mainly because the feline was close enough to the size of a rabbit which was the lynx's main food. But seeing that Shika was indeed a feline and wasn't going to run, the kitten didn't think twice about wanting to chase her.

"Yep!" the kitten said proudly as she moved closer to the feline. "What kind of cat are you? Hey, you're not a kitten, are you!" She pointed out then, picking up Shika's scent. Scent told alot about an animal, if it was read correctly.

The male kitten peeked his head out of the bushes and watched his sister and Shika. Boldly, he stepped out of hiding and padded over to the two but didn't say anything yet.

Shika

She listened glad she wasnt chased. "Im SHika and some call our kind hose cats. We dont usually live in the wild forests and all but I live with a wolf pack because I have wolf freinds." She quickly explains. "Though I have to be careful around wolves and dogs that I dont know. I never thought a kitten could be so big! Im nearly a young adult and I am smaller!"

*Lynxes*

She listens with great interest to what this little feline told her, "Gee, I thought my kind was the smallest type of cat! If you think I'm big, you should see a cougar! But my mom won't let me go see one because she says they're too dangerous." Straying from those thoughts, she brings up another topic, "If you don't live in the woods, then where do you live? I mean, not you, but ah.. house cats. Where do house cats live?" she questioned, trying to remeber what Shika called her kind.

Also thoroughly enthralled with what Shika had to say, the male kitten sat back on his haunches and didn't interupt.

Shika

She smiled. "Most live around the humans town and the alleys but some prefer to live with humans. Alot live outside but not in the deep woods. Well I dont know of any at least that live out here. I dont like humans really. Most are cruel I have heared but some are nice. Oh and some also call our kind outdoor cats but a cat is just the basic name for us." She explains. She notices the cubs claws. "Wow you have big claws as well for your size. I only have small ones!" She points out amazed and thrilled tha she was meeting a big cat. "Seeing a cougar sounds fun as well but I dont want to get hurt..." She says trailing off.

*Lynxes*

The she-kitten flexes her claws, showing them off. "We can jump really high too! And my mom is the best rabbit catcher around!" the kitten announced proudly. "If you want, I'll show you other cats that aren't so big. But we can't tell my mom because she wouldn't let us see them... you wanna come?"

The male kitten stood up eagerly then with his black-tuffed ears perked up. "Sounds like fun, sis! By the way, what's your name, little house cat? I'm Ravanok."

The she-kitten shook her head, "Ack, I'm sorry! My name is Feather-Paw." she pranced her front feet a bit, like an excited puppy might do. Her paws were large in proportion to her body and alowed her to run across snow without sinking into it.

Shika

She had stated her name but she guessed they hadent heared for she had talked a bit fast. "Im Shika." She said with a grin. She then meowed delightly. "Sure! That would be great!" She said and slun over by the two cubs glad to have new freinds.

Ravanok & Feather-Paw

Feather-Paw shook her head, "Oh, that's right! I knew that." she lied. She was so intruiged by the new little feline that she didn't quite catch the name before.

Ravanok looked down a steep hill, "There is a bobcat family that lives down in the lower valley of the ridges." he informed them, "I bet we can sneak to their den and meet the kittens!"

Feather-Paw pounced forward, "Cool! Now we can show you some Bobcats, Shika! I heard from mom that they can be dangerous too, but they aren't so big. Just follow us!" The two lynxes began to race down the steep hill at a very swift pace. When the reacehd the bottom, they stopped and waited for Shika.

Shika

Shika raced after them using her tail for balance as she ran at a very fast speed easily makeing it down the hill without even nearly falling like a canine might. She stopped. "I cant wait!" She said ecitedly to Feather-Paw and Ravanok.

Ravanok, Feather-Paw & *Bobcats*

Feather-Paw gave a grin, "This will be fun!" but now she whispered. Instead of racing across the bottom of the valley like they had done down the hill, the two lynx kittens began to slink quickly over the ground. It wasn't too long before they reached a jumble of rocks that had fallen from a cliff many years ago. There was a bobcat den inside. Crouching down just outside of the den's entrance, Feather-Paw spoke, "Hey, come out here! We want to meet you!"

Ravanok sprung atop the rocks and looked down, waiting for the kittens to come out.

After a moment, a kitten emerged from the den, but didn't come all the way out. He was smaller than the lynx kittens. "W-what do you want?" he asked fearfully.

Shika

Shika followed and smiled when she saw the bobcat. "We wanted to meet you. Im Shika just a cat." She says. She grinned. Bobcats were pretty big to except not as big as the lynxs.

Ravanok, Feather-Paw, * Bobcats*

He looked up to see Ravanok and got frightened. With a cry, he scampered back into the den without replying to Shika. Feather-Paw frowned, "Now that's no way to act! Come on out, we won't hurt you!" she said.

Without warning, the mother bobcat had appeared and heard her kitten's cry. Like a rocket, she launched herself at Ravanok and collided with him as she sunk her fangs into the back of his shoulder. Both cats tumbled off the rocks and to the ground, hissing, spitting, and having all-out war.

Ravanok somehow managed to break free from the furious wrath of the mother and streaked across the ground, trying to find shelter. The mother was right at his heels.

Feather-Paw was stunned and taken aback by the sudden and violent attack. She looked to Shika a moment before suddenly calling out for her own mom to come and help. Her mom was larger than the bobcat.

Shika

She hisses at the mother and bolts after and trys to leap upon to mothers back and bite down and dig her sharp claws into her back to slow her down. Shika knew it was dangerous but the bobcat needed to be slowed down so Ravanok didnt get himself killed.

Feather-Paw, Ravanok, & *Bobcats*

Feather-Paw joined in the chase to help her brother. Without warning, the mother suddenly wheeled around in mid flight and turned her attack on Feather-Paw. Surprised, Feather-Paw didn't get out of the way in time, but met the charge head on. Two two felines were engaged in a full-blown cat fight now, using claws and teeth. The bobcat was about to sink her teeth into the kitten's neck when Shika caught up and clung to her back.

Releasing her hold, the cat sprung back with a furious cry and tried to snap at Shika. It was too hard to reach the feline though, so the cat began to roll on the ground to smash her if she didn't let go.

Ravanok, realizing he wasn't being chased, turned and spead back to the battle. He took a hold on the bobcat's hind leg. Feather-Paw got a hold on one front leg. They both tried to imobilize the mother so Shika could safetly get off.

Shika

She leapt off onto a tree fur on end. "Hurry up here!" She yelled to the two lynx cubs. At least they could slash at the mother if she tried to follow. Shika clung onto a branch. Shed go back down if they needed help.

Ravanok, Feather-Paw, & *Bobcats*

The fled to the tree and clambered up to the higher branches, but not without a few more bites and scratches from the mother.

The bobcat made a lunge to follow them up the tree, but was promptly stopped when so many claws were weiled out against her face. Hissing terribly, she dropped down and circled below them, "If I ever catch you near my young ones again, you'll pay dearly!" the mother sprinted back to her den now to make sure her cubs were alright.

Ravanok let out a deep breath, "And that's the smallest cat... well, besides house cats... that we know! It's a good thing we didn't run into a puma or anything." he pointed out.

Feather-Paw nodded and looked to Shika, "Are you alright?"

Shika

She streatches. "Im fine. She got way to angrey over ntohing. We were only saying hello." She says. SHe smiles and clambers up to on of the higher branches with them. "So how big is your mother?"

Ravanok & Feather-Paw

Ravanok nodded, "Yeah, I know! My mom is much nicer than that. And speaking of which, she is also much bigger!"

Feather-Paw nodded in agreement, "That's right. But she isn't the biggest one. My mom says she once spoke with this one animal... uhh... I don't remember what it was, but anyway, she said the biggest cats are called tigers."

Ravanok looked to his sister then to Shika. "Uh-hu, and she said the tigers have stripes of black, and have orange on top and white on bottom. But she said they don't live here." Ravanok frowned, "It would be neat to see a tiger. She said the big ones live where it is cold, but there aren't very many of them left."

Shika

She smiled. "Wow! That sounds cool! And hey do you think I will get to meet your mom?" She asks curiously. She holds onto the tree branch but streaches as she talks.

Ravanok & Feather-Paw

Feather-Paw nods, "Sure! I'll bet she'd like to meet you!" the young lynx sprung from the branch she was on and landed on a lower one. From there and leapt to the ground. Ravanok decided it was best to scoot down the tree trunk. Feather-Paw looked up at her brother, "Aw, don't be such a chicken! Just jump!"

Ravanok snorted but otherwise ignored his sister. He continued to scoot down until he reached the ground. "C'mon, Shika! We'll show you our mom!" he piped up happily. The two began to make their way back up the steep hill, but waited for Shika.

Shika

She nodded but she climbed to a bit of a higher branch first knowing the higher the better for it was easier to balance her self out from a higher place. She leaps down landing on her four paws. She smiles and sprints after them.

Ravanok, Feather-Paw, & Vlanafh

Ravanok lead the way while Feather-Paw hung back a little to speak with Shika, "You'll like our mother! Her name is Vlanafh... it's kinda odd." she giggled.

It wasn't long before they returned to the spot near where Shika first encountered them. They made their way to where a fallen tree was. A den was dug under it. "Momma!" Feather-Paw called out loudly.

"Vlanafh!" Ravanok called out, calling his mother by her name. In no time, the light pad of feet could be heard dashing over the ground and slowing to a steady pace. A female lynx appeared over the ridge and padded down to her kittens. A questioning look was giving to Shika, "Who might you be?" Vlanafh inquired as she sniffed at the cat.

Ravanok and Feather-Paw gleefully bounded towards their mother and rubbed up against her; a friendly way for cats to express who is superior to them, as well as a greeting.

Shika

She followed and stopped. When Vlanaf came out she smiled. "Im Shika. I live with a wolf pack but no ones been around latley so I came here to meet some other cats and I met your cubs. Oh and if your wondering why I live with a wolf pack its because when I was a kitten Down Town I lost my mother and a nice wolf named Aquila became my freind and I live in his pack. Luna is the alpha there." She said happily but was unsure if Vlanaf knew much about wolves. "Oh but I do have to watch out for strange wolves or dogs cause some might still chase me." She explained.

Vlanafh, Ravanok, & Feather-Paw

Vlanafh nodded lightly, "I see, I see." she wasn't sure what an 'alpha' was, and decided against asking about that. She had other questions though, "So you live with a wolf pack, huh? I've seen wolves now and then, but never with cats. I thought about meeting one sometime, but I never got the chance. I've been busy raising my cubs, you see."

Shika

She smiles and nods. "Hey you wanna meet a wolf? I could lead you to where the pack is but I cant guareente anyone being around. Thats why I cam here exploring and I was gonna go back later to see if they came back." She suggests. She smiles flicking her tail occasionally.

Vlanafh, Ravanok, & Feather-Paw

Vlanafh tilted her head a bit in a thoughtful way. "I don't see why not; I always like to see new things. Meeting a wolf would be interesting!"

Ravanok grinned, "Cool! I can't wait to see one!"

Feather-Paw nodded, "Yeah, this will be interesting!"

Shika

She got a bad feeling all of the sudden but tryed not to show a worried look. She darted out to the main packlands of Aspen Grove but on the way had turned off the the Revedenvous sight in the lands when she sensed trouble. She made sure that her new freinds were behind her on the way by looking back.

Vlanafh, Ravanok, & Feather-Paw

With Vlanafh in the lead, the three lynxes padded off after Shika to see the wolf pack.
