Vakker

Vakker walked along the river, her eyes constantly looking for danger. Her cub was back at her den, waiting for her to return. The mother cat had needed a break from the cub, and she also needed to hunt. She paused for a moment, lapping up the cool water of the river, her eyes not leaving the shore on the opposite side. Her large ears swivled back and forth, keen to any sounds that would indicate danger.

She was soon finished with her drink, and she continued on. The lynx was on the hunt.

*Rabbit*

A small rabbit was oblivious to the danger that lurked nearby. She continued to graze on the green grass. Vakker was in luck, for the wind was blowing in the lynx's favor.

Vakker

Vakker's eyes spotted slight movement, and she instantly focused on it. It was a rabbit, munching on some grass. Perfect.

She began to stalk towards it, her attention completely focused on it. She carefully placed her paws in areas where they would make no noise, her coat blended nicely with dry bushes around her. She finally bunched up, readying for the strike.

Her energy released like a spring, tense muscles unfurling with a beautiful snap. Her dagger sharp claws were outstretched as she reached out for the small mamal, hopefully hooking them deep within the flesh of the rabbit.

*Rabbit*

Before the rabbit could react, her back was caught in the jaws of Vakker. Her hind legs were paralyzed from the blow. She was still alive, but things didn't look good for her.

Vakker

The cat bit down on the rabbit's neck, hoping to break its neck and kill it.

*Rabbit*

The rabbit had little chance of escaping the cat's grip. Unfortunately, the rabbit's neck was broken and she soon went limp.

Vakker and Fare

Vakker dropped the rabbit on the ground, licking the red droplets of blood off her whiskers. Her eyes scanned the area againg for danger, her ears once again rotating back and forth on her head. Satisfied, she quickly ate the rabbit, relishing in the release from the hunger she had been captive in before. When she was done, she slinked off to her den, where her cub was waiting for her.

As she approached the entrance, her scent was carried to her cub, who began mewing hungrily. The mother had not been the only one suffering from the horrible pangs of hunger. She picked up pace and was soon inside of the den.

Fare mobbed her mother as soon as she entered, sensing that the lynx had been successful in her huntings. "Mommy, are you full?"

"Yes dear, I ate a rabbit. Now come, have your meal." As the small kitten clambered over and began suckling the nurishing milk that the mother had, Vakker began to groom her young. The roughness of her tongue soon untangled the tuff of soft fur that coated Fare. The cub was soon satisfied, and she curled up next to her mother to sleep.

Vakker, always wary, kept awake and alert for danger.

=Blind,Deaf,Mute,Evil

The female Sib pup of 7 months led the way. She could see but could not speak nor hear. She watched as she moved along and soon stopped as sshe spotted the lynx and cub.

Deaf followed his sister holding on lightly to her tail. He could hear but could not see or speak. He smelt the lynx

Then there was mute who could speak but ot hear or see.He growled lightly as he followed using his smelling to follow his siblings. He stopped beside his sister.

The last one was evil who could not see, hear or speak. she held onto he brother deaf's tail.

Vakker and Fare

Vakker hissed menacingly, startling the cub into waking. The hair on the mother's back rose and she hissed again. "Be warned, if you think you can harm my cub, than you are sadly mistaken." The adult lynx would have not trouble taking down the pups, her claws razor sharp, teeth as peircing as daggers.

Fare huddled against her angry mother, shaking slightly. She was only about a month old, and the pups were much bigger than she was.

Blind,Deaf,Mute,Evil

Blind just blinked and tryed to say nothing but was not succesfully nor could she understand what the mother was saying. She looked to mute.

Mute stepped up."I am sorry miss i don't know what you said for i am deaf and blind, My sister blind is deaf and mute, my brother deaf is blind and mute. I am deaf and blind and evil is blind mute and deaf we don't seek to harm anyonne if that is what you said"He said.

Deaf listened and whined though nothing came out.

evil didn't know what was going on just knew that there were othes around.

Vakker and Fare

The mother relaxed slightly. These pups were helpless, well... maybe not helpless, but they probably couldn't harm Fare even if they wanted too. "It must be hard..." She stopped. It wasn't like many of them could hear what she was saying. Her cub looked up at Vakker.

"Mommy, what's wrong? Why are they so quiet?" Large blue eyes looked up with much curiousity and wonder.

"They were born that way, I would assume. It's a defect that can prove deadly. They must come from well off parents if they look as fine as they do."

Blind,Deaf,Mute,Evil

The only one who could see watched the two and read their lips but could not tell them. She again looked to mute who couldn't tell what they sair but figured itout some way or another.

Mute:"Our parents where slaughtered by two cougars called Nanook and Tango If that is what you are wondering. We have already started eatting meat but unless we find a surrogote mom we will not live past a year if we are lucky"

Deaf and evil just stood where they stood.

Vakker and Fare

"Mommy, why did the mean cougars do that to their mammy and daddy?" The mother lynx looked at her own cub lovingly. "It is the way that the world works."

"But Mommy, it's not fair. They didn't do anything to hurt the cougars! They're only puppies!" Vakker licked the cub. "It is not fair, but the world is an unfair place."

"Mommy, what does "surr...ogate" mean?" The little kitten was full of curiousity.

"It means a substitute. They need someone to be their mother."

"You can be their mother, can't you Mommy?" Vakker closed her eyes and sighed. It was hard enough to find enough food for herself, let alone four pups. But somewhere in her heart, her motherly instincts kicked the logic out of her mind.

"Would you like to stay with us?" She asked the group. They most certainly needed someone to take care of them, in their condition they would be gobled up by the predators quickly.
