Silva
The coyote was nosing about a pool of hot water, warming her fur while trying to find a stray snake or some other little creature to eat. She was in relatively good health and spirits right now.
After a fruitless search for something to eat, the little canine sprung to the top of a large earth mound and sat back on her haunches. Silva pointed her lean muzzle to the sky and gave voice to a howl, simply for the pleasure of it.
Reaper
Reaper would have passed right by this terrain if he haden't heard a familiar howl. Grey and white fur shined in the dim light as he perked up his floppy ears taking in the howl. Immidiatly he sprang in Silva's direction pausing when he saw her atop a large mound. He stopped a short distance away and tilted his mug back to howl as well.. to see if she remembered him from the start.
Silva The coyote nearly fell off backwards from the mound when she heard the howl, for she didn't immediately recognize it. To her, it meant that a predator was near, and she must watch out. Her hackles bristled at the sight of a large shape springing her way, but before she turned to flee, recognition awoke in her bright orbs. Very slowly at first, her fur settled and she took a few timid steps towards her old friend, just making sure it was truely him. And when she was certain, the coyote plunged down from the mound, kicking up clouds of dust in her wake. "Reaper!" Silva cried out coming to a prancing stop just in front of him, "What a wonderful turn of events!"
Reaper
Reaper grinned and gave a small nod. "Ah yes of course." He said in a cheerful kind of tone. He wagged his wolvish tail and licked her mug as a greeting and to say he was glad to see her once again. "You;ve been well Silva I hope?" He asked, she seemed healthy and happy but he wanted to be sure. "Those humans havent come after you right?"
Silva
She nuzzled him in return, "I've learned my lesson about the humans. I haven't let them bother me this time." The coyote replied flicking her tail up a little, feeling very good at the moment. "I've been doing pretty well; mostly keeping to myself. There's not so many of my kind about, with all the wolves here." She added thoughtfully. This made her even more glad to be reunited with Reaper.
Reaper
Reaper gave a small nod glad that the humans hadn't bothered Silva while he had been gone. "Ah I see, I am glad that you've been well." He stretched then looked to the sky watching smoke rise from this area, then her turned his attention back to Silva. "I almost thought I wouldent find you. So is there anywhere you reside Silva or do you wander around?" He asked her curiously. He already guessed she didn't live in a pack from what she just said, but that didn't mean she didn't stay anywhere.
Silva
She shook her head, "Afriad not. I was tempted to find a pack, but I couldn't." The coyote sighed, but there wasn't much disappointment in her tones. As much as she liked the company of the others, freedom felt quite liberating and wonderful. "Are you planning on taking a territory?" Silva asked suddenly, looking up at her friend, "I'd be more than happy to accompany you."
Reaper
"Ah I see." He gave a small smile and shook his head after seeming to think for a moment. "No not yet anyway.. that is unless you think I should, otherwise perhapes we can both wander around a bit packless, or join a pack." He suggested and awaited her response.
