*Badger*

A badger was making his way across the vast land, heading straight for the trunk of a long-dead tree. He began to dig furiously at the trunk, not looking for what might be going on around him...

Akantha/Holly/Mugsy

Akantha saw the badger and crouched low to the ground nad began approaching from its hind.

holly:she came from one side

mugsy:she approached from the other.

*Badger*

With virtually no twigs or anything to step on and make noise, it was easy for the canines to make a silent approach. And the wind was blowing straight into the badger's face, so he did not pick up on their scents as he worked at the log. They were able to get very close indeed. The badger worked at the wood until he had torn a large hole. A very sweet scent came from the log now...

akantha/holly/mugsy

Akantha was the first to make a noise as she growled and charged the badger

holly:shewaited quiet close to the tree for the badger blocking any means of escape

mugsy:she did the same as holly on the opposite side of the tree.

*Badger*

The badge stuck his head into the tree, then pulled back with something sticky and dripping from his jaws. A honeycomb! But he dropped the comb just as he heard the growl and saw the three wolves for the first time. Startled, tried to climb the tree, but was knocked down by Akantha's charge. Snapping at her, he tried to scale the tree again.

A loud buzzing began to echo through the tree, and then they started to swarm out... bees! Dozens of them were pouring out of their broken nest.

Akantha

She growled at the badger it had nicked her muzzle. She attempted to grab its small little tail. She heard the bees and growled she pulled hoping she had the badger and not caring how it bit her scratched her she ran for it.

mugsy:she lay low in the grass as not to be spotted by the bees.

holly:she too ducked down lower in the tall grass.

*Badger*

The badger cried out as he was pulled down. He swung his muzzle down and bit into Akantha's, trying to make her let go. Then the bees attacked. More and more swarmed out, until their drones were deafening and their sheer mass of numbers made it look like a cloud around the wolf and badger. They began to sting the two!

One bee managed to spot Mugsy as she hid. Zooming down, she stung the canine one the ear. In an instant, a dozen more bees were heading Mugsy's way, alerted of her presence because of the first bee.

Holly went undetected.

Mugsy

She yelped and ran away."leavem e alone it wasnt me it wasnt me"She ran screaming.

holly she shookin fear for her mother and daughter but was too frightened to move.

akantha:she let out a yelp as she was bitten and stung and she threw the badger adn ran into a lake and whimpered.

*Badger & Bees*

The bees swarmed thick in the sky, chasing after Mugsy. But if she ran at her top speed, they would not continue the chase. And if they ran a mile away from the nest, the bees would simply give up and head back home.

It wasn't long before the angry insects located Holly. Two landed on her back and stung. It would be long before the others landed on her!

The bees backed off when Akantha entered the water. The buzzed furiously around the water, then flew away. But since the area all around was thermal, the 'lake' that Akantha had jumped into didn't contain cold, pure water. It was extremely hot and smelt strongly of sulfur. If she didn't get out quick, the heat would kill her!

The badger takes off, snarling at the pain of the stings. He tries to hide, but he's too slow and can't find anywhere to go. After several minutes of running about, he drops to the ground, convulsing. A few minutes later, he's dead. Over a hundered bee stings covered his body. He'd make a good meal...
