*Humans & Fallow Deer*
A long truck toting a small trailer rumbled across the dusty expanse of the Ashen Domes until it came to a certain area. Two vertical ridges, stretching several hundered yards in length, were connected at the end. They created a large 'U' shaped area, larger than several football fields lined up. The truck had stopped at the beginning of this natural enclosed area and backed the trail in. Three men and a young teen got out of the truck. While three of them got their bows ready and checked their arrows, another guy went around to the back of the trailer.
He opened it up and out sauntered a strange sight indeed. It was a large fallow deer, but with a black coat. He looked at the man and sniffed him curiously. He had been raised on a nearby farm. Though he didn't know it, he was the 'game' in a canned hunting session. To frighten the tamed animal into a run, the man shot a small pistal into the air. Startled by the explosive noise, the buck took off running.
The other three humans, all prepped and ready for the 'hunt' began to stalk after the animal. But the poor fallow buck didn't know that he was being hunting. And even if he did, there was no way for him to escape the high ridges that had him blocked in.
Vicious
The lupus heard the gun shot, Troting silently to the humans little enclosed area. Squeezing through a thoughtless opening he prowled as close as he could the the humans. He spotted three walking after a deer of some sort. And another one standing at the trailer. would he take the one at the trailer? or the ones stalking the poor deer.
Quietly, he made his way into the bushes. Cold gray pelt blended in with dead leaves and branches. And he kept quite low when when he came to green. Slowly he followed and waited for one of the three men to fall back. Waiting patiently.
*Humans & Fallow Deer*
The man at the trailer was not paying attention any more. He was busy talking on his cellphone.
One of the three 'hunters', a middle-aged man, began to split from the group. While the fallow buck had no real place to go, they were still going to corner him near the back of the ridge where the teenager could have an easy, open shot at him. Point blank, to say the least. Soon, the man had spread out far enough where clumps of earth, rocks, and hardy plants separated him from his companions.
The fallow buck had calmed down quite a bit now, getting over the initial startled of the gun blast. Now he walked slowly and glanced back at the humans now and then. He didn't fear them, but he wasn't happy about them trailing after him, so he continued to move away; just as they wanted.
Vicious
His single eye spotted the middle aged man seperate from the group. His trail turned and followed him, Until the others could be only heard by him, and not in sight. And when the human seemed the most consentrated with what was infront of him, He Jumped up and aimed to snap his neck in one bite, Hoping to make a silent kill, to kill the human before he could scream and startle the other three.
*Humans & Fallow Buck*
The human didn't have time to give a shout. Vicious's aim was true and quick, breaking the human's neck before he even hit the ground.
The other man stopped and crouched down a bit, motioning to his son. The teen walked a bit closer to the buck and raised his bow. He glanced in the direction of the dead man, waiting in vain for him to come forward also.
The fallow buck turned around suddenly, having heard the man thud against the dusty earth. But the deer wasn't too frightened; he never had to fear wolves before, being a tame animal. He reached the end of the ridges and nuzzled at the ground, finding a bit of bitter grass to eat. He glanced at the teen then, blinking back at the human, blissfully ignorant of what they planned to do.
Whisper
The steel hued duchess slunk close to the earth, following te scent of the deer and the humans as they traveled across the area. Her own boidced followed close, keeping her motions careful yet swift, straying from dried leaves that would crunch as she stepped on them. As the humans stopped, she lay motionless within the grass about ten feet behind and a bit to the side of the teen. Her eyes stay locked on the human as her bodice was poised for attack. She would have this human, there was no question about it.
Hydras, Narsia, & Skeil
The three canines had left the Alleys in search of food for a wounded pack member. Ankh and Bullet had been punished by Hydras and now carried little wounds as a reminder. Now the lonely alpha brought the group to the front of the ridge where the truck was parked. She knew this land pretty well and knew also that who ever was in the ridges could only get out from the way they came in.
Hydras paused in some vegetation while she surveyed the man by the truck. He didn't seem to have any weapons with him, at least not that the hybrid could see. Slowly and casually, she sauntered out into the open, yawned, and lay down in the shade that the truck provided. She let herself be in full view of the man with the cell phone, but pretended to pay him little attention.
Narsia, staying out of sight, headed to the left of the truck while Skeil went to the right. The three provided a sort of blockade. There was still plenty of room to run past them, but it would be hard to without getting tagged if they felt like attacking. They had no intentions of attacking the two wolves within the ridge enclosure; it was the humans they would make sure couldn't get out.
Vicious
The brute lept from the corpse and hid in the bushes near the other two humans, but heard another. He turned to whisper, noting only her and not the other three. His fangs revealed utter hatred. "Leave this place, these are my kills. You get in the way, and i'll have your hide!" He turned and watched the kid staring at the dead man, while he stared the brute once again, with the same accuracy, lept to the childs neck to break it.
Whisper
A light laughter fell from her jaws at the threat, changing her target as she saw the brutes bodice spring to life. She went right for the man who seemed to be directing the kid, her own jaws aiming for his throat. Together, whether the male liked it or not, their was less of a chance for one of them to get shot and killed.
*Humans & Fallow Buck*
The child gave up on waiting for the other man to appear and turned his sights once more on the buck. He was just pulling back for a release when Viscious struck. The metal arrow wizzed from the bow, imbedding itself in the flank of the fallow buck. The teen hit the ground hard, loosing touch with his only weapon. But the way he had held his arms up prevented Viscious from getting an accurate hold on the throat. Instead, his fangs came back with a bit of the human's flesh. Giving a cry, the child struck out with his limber arms and legs, shrieking and yelling as he did so, trying to fight the beast off.
The man, being more out in the open, spotted Whisper just in time. He swung his bow around, placing the bulky item between him and her raving jaws. While he struggled with on hand to keep Whisper at bay with the sturdy bow, his other hand groped around desperately for an arrow. He could not hope to shoot it at Whisper, but he could use his own strength to stab her with it if he got the chance...
The human by the truck looked at Hydras in alarm, not expecting to see such a large hybrid. Seeing no aggression from her, he ended his conversation on the phone and whistled to the alpha, trying to get her to come to him.
Vicious
His growls grew louder and he bit down hard on the boys arm. Teeth searched to break his arm as he jerked the limb from side to side.
Ninaki, Kenyon, Pirqua, Dally, & Mesa
Ninaki had trailed his group and now walked boldly out in front of the man by the truck. He could hear the screams and struggles echoes against the ridges within, but he could not see what was going on because of all the rocks and vegetation in the way. Calm like Hydras, the hybrid stopped a yard away from the man and gazed up at him.
Kenyon, considerably larger than his father and mother, stood a yard from the human as well, off to his side.
Three falcons swooped down, followed their 'pack'. Pirqua alighted on the top of the ridge, where Vicious and Whisper were battling the humans. She gave a sharp falcon cry and settled down to watch them.
Her daughter, Mesa, landed on a nearby rock where Whisper was fighting, hoping to get a closer look. Dally landed on the truck, peering thoughtful at the man and senses the deadly calm that settled around him and the pack. He knew what was about to happen.
Whisper
Whisper let a low snarl fall from her fangs as she leapt from the bow which blocked the way. And instead of standing still, she took off around the man, running a few times before savagly leaping at the back of his neck. She hoped he would be too slow to catch her motion and this attack would kill the man.
*Humans & Fallow Buck*
The teen's furious battering with his fists and legs could not stop his attacker. He gave a shrill scream when his arm was broken and twisted by Vicious. There was little he could do, but perhaps rent the air with such shrill noises as to hurt the ears of both wolves.
The man had scrambled up, swinging his bow around with him as protection. But having been down, he couldn't get up quick enough to turn with her movements. When she struck, he did too though, guiding his metal arrow across her flesh so that it was imbedded about two inches across the flesh of her side, damaging only skin and muscle. The man took the worst punishment. No sooner had his arrow been jabbed into his attacker than Whisper's fangs closed over his throat. Crushing through his vitals with over a thousand pounds of force, the man fell dead within seconds.
The man by the truck was startled by the appearance of two more canines. He began to get very unnerved now with the way they looked at him. He was even more taken aback by the apperance of the falcon, "Get! Shoo, I've got no food you filthy mongrels!" he snapped angrily, waving his hands at them.
The fallow buck had retreated against the wall of the ridge, frightened and pained by the arrow, though it was not a lethal hit. Suddenly feeling cornered and confused, he scratched the ground with a front hoof and shook his splayed antlers at the humans and wolves, warning them to keep their distance.
Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Jet-Wing
Jet-Wing came flying in as well, the sibling of the other two young falcons. He swooped low over the ridge enclosure and glided back to land near by Dally. "The humans are all but killed in there."
Hydras smirked at this report, "Alright, then let's have some more fun with this fellow." She stood now, moving within three feet of the man.
Narisa and Skeil came forward two, encircling the man and gazing intently at him. They would see just how frightened they could make him.
Jet-Wing bobbed his head excitedly, "Look at him squirm! He's afriad!"
Vicious
When the humans arm broke, he knew it would be useless to defend with. His ears pressed back as the boy shrilled, and the shrill only made him more angry. Quickly he lept once again to the boys throat. Hopeing to tear it to pieces.
Whisper
The huntress let a low growl fall from her clentched jaws as she is stabbed, stopping only as the weight of the man is felt and his bod fall limp with death. Another human down. With a snicker she bend to lick the wound on ther side, nothing vital injured and simply a flesh wound. With a quik look around the fae padded off, keeping her motion steady as to keep the slight pain she felt just that.
*Humans & Fallow Buck* >[? The little one held no chance against Vicious. His struggled were quickly ended when the massive jaws closed around his small throat, tearing through all the vitals that lay there.
The other man picked up a stone and chucked it at Hydras, yelling angrily now.
The buck calmed a bit, watching the other wolf depart. Now his pain-glossed eyes settled on Vicious and the dead human. The antler-branched head lifted slightly, but was still poised for defence if needed.
Vicious
Without hesitation, as soon as the human fell dead in his grip, he ran to the man that was surrounded by the other pack. Comming up the rear as the man was distracted by the others, his massive bodice flew threw the air and once again his fangs sought their way to the humans neck. He wanted the bounty to himself, not to these amatures.
Hydras & Pack
Hydras snarled at the rock that was flung to her, jumping aside but getting struck on the side of her head. Her calm amusement turned to animosity in an instant. But she didn't not attack this man. "Hold back!" She ordered her pack, watching as Vicious flung himself in the midst of the Shadow Lurkers. "We have a guest." Now a crafty grin spread over her multi-toned muzzle, "Lets see what he can do." Had Hydras known what Vicious refered to them though, she would have sent her pack forward to teach him a lesson. But as it was, none were mind readers. They were satisfide to watch for now.
Narsia sighed loudly, wanting to jump into the action, but holding herself back at her sister's command. She flashed a smile to her mate before looking to Vicious. She wondered why Hydras had ordered the pack to stand at bay, but she did not question.
Skeil growled merrily, watching the event unfold. The man looked like a chicken flapping about while he waved his arms at them.
*Human & Fallow Buck*
The man was about to make a rush at Hydras when something collided with him from behind, sending him face first to the ground. A great cloud of white-gray dust billowed up, obscuring the scene slightly. Once the heavy dust cleared, it left revelaed the lifeless body of a man, his neck broken between the mighty jaws of a wolf.
Vicious
He smirked with the taste of the blood. Single eye looked up to the pack. A large scar across his right eye as well as -plenty- of scars. He gave a short growl, then turned with a slight hungery. Trotting over to the fallow buck. When he was a few yard away, he went into a slight sprint. Unsure if the buck was hit. He lunged for the bucks throat. He would eat a little and let the pack have the rest if they wished.
Solange & *Fallow Buck*
The fallow spotted Vicious coming and lowered his splayed antlers, giving a grunt of warning. When Vicious lunged, the buck sprung forward with all his might, and swung his head to the side. His spread antlers hit the wolf's head and jaw, forcing him to not only miss his target but to be sent to the ground by the blow. The buck shook his head angrily. The velvetine, although it was beginning to grow old, was bruised by the impact.
Mounting the top of the ridge was a strange sight indeed. It was a white-tail buck with a set of badly deformed antlers. He glared down at the wolf and gave a sharp snort in warning. "Leave the deer be!" he called down angrily. He was part of a strange herd, with a story to long to be told all at once.
Vicious
The wolf glared at the buck who tried to ward him off. But with all the fighting he began to falter. He growled, this was not worth his time. He would get no bounty to the humans by fighting this deer. He turned and glared through his single globe to the pack, then walked away. A small limp, and some scratches, but nothing major.
