Argolis & Others

Dusk had set over the city, and the sky was particularly dark as heavy snow clouds moved in and blotted out the moon and stars. The den was bathed in an unnatural orangish-yellow glow that angled in through the windows from nearby streetlights, casting long shadows across the dingy floor. Argolis was sauntering back into the building, slipping in through the two metal doors that were partially open and rusted permanently in place. "Shadow Lurkers!" The alpha's voice was not particularly loud, but his low, rumbling tone carried easily through the building, while being slight enough to avoid alarming any nearby humans that might be walking the streets around them. "It's time for our hunt, and tonight it will be in the Wild Lands. Some of you will remain behind to guard our den and those unable to hunt. Everyone else will join me."

One of the few to stay behind was Ninaki, who had decline so much over the past year that some worried about his survival this winter. Gaunt and ragged in appearance, the hybrid remained curled up in a nest of tattered blankets, with his dark muzzle buried into his tail for warmth. He would not be going on the hunt tonight. "I'll stay to help guard." This came from Skeil. The aging pitbull had plenty of vigor and fight left in her, but on these bitterly cold nights, she knew she would better serve her pack by standing guard, rather than trying to keep up with the fleet-footed hybrids out in the wild lands. Besides, she knew that three pups were with them now, and wanted to help Holly look after them during the hunt.

Dixie

Dixie had been waiting for this call ever since Argolis had left her to do as she wished earlier today. Really, she had found nothing else to do to keep herself occupied so she was glad that it was now time for the hunt to begin so that she would have something to do and maybe the chance to make make her leader see that she was worth having around, though she knew that she would mainly be just watching this hunt. Either way, her still overly skinny frame was carried to the area where Argolis was, and once he was in close distance she nodded her head to him and then sat down to wait.

Holly also approached with the pups, though it had already been agreed that they would stay behind. And that was good since the pups were quite tired from their day playing with Freefall. Holly stood back close to where Skeil was and kept the pups close by as she waited.

Rexina

Rexina moved to where Argolis was, eager to follow on the hunt. She wasn't entirely sure the others could be counted on in this, they weren't wolves, after all. No matter, she'd do her best and hope they weren't totally useless in hunting. She sat herself down and waited, but her eyes strayed to the pups, they wouldn't come, would they? Surely the others knew the pups were too young?
She said nothing, just waited to follow, and avoided eye contact.

Argolis & Others

The brindle alpha waited as the pack gathered about him, either deciding to join on the hunt, or hang behind and watch over the place. Honthale, Desmon, Bullet, and Pistol were among the hybrids joining in on the hunt, while Orchilla, Rataska, and Argolis's sister Lerna remained behind with the others to keep an eye on things. After all, with Taros and Kane recently slain by their enemies, the Shadow Lurkers couldn't take any chance at leaving their members vulnerable.

"Stick close, and keep your ears and noses alert." Argolis gave the group a bit of forewarning, because his concern wasn't just whether or not they'd find prey - they needed to be on the lookout for their adversaries too. "We'll be going for big game tonight." With that final look to his pack, the alpha lead the group out through the metal doors of the old building, and cut through the dark alleyways to reach the Wild Lands.
