Darsie
It had been a while since she had last seen her only surviving offspring. Rataska had gone missing. At first, the doberman mix thought she must have gone to visit one of their relatives, either at the Ranch, or out further into the wilderness with Ankh or Aaka's old pack. But after searching both places recently, and getting no new from the falcons, her worry began to grow. There were reports of other canines disappearing too, not to mention a few of the Guardian's cats.
"Ninaki?" Darsie left a pile of tattered sheets where she'd been sleeping, and proceeded down the steps towards the lower level of the Den. Her blue eyes flashed this way and that, trying to find their beta, rather than Lyckos at this time; he had so much on his plate right now that she couldn't bring herself to place another burden on his sore shoulders. "Ninaki?"
Ninaki
The beta was curled up in his own nest of blankets and an old winter coat he'd scavenged from the dump. When he heard Darsie's voice, his eyes flashed open and he lifted his graying muzzle up, "Over here, Darsie. Is something wrong?" The cold had really gotten to Ninaki this winter, sapping him of strength and making his bones ache and his muscles stiffen. He was really feeling his age now, even moreso than Bullet who was just as old. For this reason, he didn't attempt to stand up from his warm resting spot, but remained curled up with his tail covering his paws.
Ninaki
One of the hybrid's ears abruptly shifted to the side, hearing a sharp bark from just outside the den. It wasn't a terribly familiar sound, but he still recognized it as one of their allies - the offspring of the Silver Glades pack. "We've got company. Follow me, and I'll hear what you have to say after we've greeted our guest." Ninaki heaved himself up onto his brownish-black legs, his face twisting briefly to highlight the pain that this movement caused. But without further acknowledging it, the beta trotted away from his warm bed with only a slight limp and traveled towards the door that would lead him outside.
