Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia

The Lurkers returned to the Alleys, heading for the abandoned factory that had become their main grounds. Each canine entered through the hole in the brick wall and settled down to clean their wounds.

Narsia entered last, staggering and swaying badly. Her stomach churned violently and her paws were going cold and numb so that she stumbled and tripped over things. A steady trail of blood marked her path from the Ruins, and marked her fatal wound. She slump to the ground in a heap, her body lax and her breathing desperately shallow.

It was Hydras who first noticed the dire situation of her sister. She sprung up, forgetting her own wounds, and approached Narsia, "Why didn't you say anything! Narsia, no!" But Hydras now noticed the trail of blood on the ground, and how thickly a pool was growing beneath her matted neck. The glazed, dull look in the hybrid's eyes held little fight. "NOOO!" Hydras howled out so loud it shook her and rattled deafeningly through the vast emptiness of the factory.

Narsia pulled her ears back slightly as Yersinia and Skeil gathered silently around her. "T-tell.. tell them I loved them... I forgive her."

Hydras licked her sister's face, "I will. I will." She whispered and looked around, holding a calm, collective demeanor. But her eyes betrayed the intense misery that the alpha felt. Her sister... so close to her...

My candle burns at both its ends;_It will not last the night;
_But oh, my foes, and oh, my friends -- _It gives a lovely light.

Sequioa

Silently the odd looking female appeared. She was in the foulest of moods. She didnt see Narsia on thr ground until she shifted and gazed around Hydras. She glanced at the alpha and threw back her head letting out a mournful howl for any and all to hear. She hadnt known what else to do so this was it.

We all Suffer we all Grieve but those of us that are lucky enough find Release

Ninaki, Kenyon, & Pirqua

Father and son arrive next, with Ninaki traveling a good deal slower than Kenyon. Being mauled by a cougar was not fun. But his mood dropped even further, along with his heart, when he spotted his mate. His dark yellow orbs flashed wide as he hurried to his mate's side. "Narsia..." He knew there was no hope for her, so he didn't even mention going to the Woodland Farm. He nuzzled her lightly, staring helpless into her eyes. Leaning near, he whispered in a choked voice to his mate, "Be at peace. Storm Dancer and Scilla await you..." He swallowed hard, for it hurt more than any physical pain to say this.

Kenyon whimpered in misery, pacing around behind the gathered pack. He knew it'd be his job to inform the two outcasts of their mother's death... and Ankh too, if he could find the feisty brother.

Pirqua alighted on a beam above the gathering. Her sharp eyes could read the looks on everyone's face, and the wounds on her friend's neck. She could not howl out her grief like the others, nor make any other such saddened noises. But her hunched shoulders and drooped head told all of her sorrow. Like a raven of forboding death, the falcon perched in the shadows above the dying Narsia.

Hydras, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia

Her gaze edges towards her mate and one ear twitches at the familiar voice. For a moment, her voice flexes before any distinguisable words are uttered in a faint, coarse, voice, "Darth... Kiarra, and D..."

Skeil flinched at the sound of her mate's name and focused herself on Narsia. Yersinia's eyes were wide and staring as she tried to control herself from the throes of sorrow.

Hydras pressed herself closer to her fading sister, listening with great intensity at what was being said. Then she drew back sharply, quivering almost at what name she heard Narsia utter last. Everyone strained to hear now as Narsia struggled to speak more. But as they all watched, tuned in and now silent, it dawned on them that their sister, aunt, mother, and friend... was gone.

Hydas looked to her nephew, Kenyon. "Relay the news." Her voice was strangely quite. But there was a warning note in it; for the alpha was certainly not in the best mood. A single act of insubordination or a falter in obeying commands would throw her into attack. Knowing she could not let her sorrow-built anger get out of control, Hydras got up and bolted from the factory to be alone for a while.

Skeil whimpered pitifully, then rested her head near Yersinia's.

My candle burns at both its end; And doth breathe it's final light...
But oh, my foes, and oh, my friends… revel in its might!
