Ratchet
Ratchet, a wolf-dog hybrid, entered the alleyway, his features displaying caution. He had lived around alleys all his life, but this one was new. Dull claws rasped against the paved streets as he walked, sniffing half-interestedly at randomly placed trash heaps.
Besides the garbage pile-ups, Ratchet's nostrils sought the aroma of other canines, hoping to be aware of them so that he may explain himself and not get jumped for trespassing. In some places, the alley dogs were reasonable. In others, they were down right vicious. Ratchet hoped that the dogs ruling this area were of the former mentioned category.
Hydras & Skeil
The alpha-fae of the Shadow Lurkers pack had caught wind of the stranger. Their growing pack had claim to the Alleys, but with so many stray dogs here and there, they never tried to drive ever outsider away. That would be nearly impossible; but they were determined to let everyone know just who was in charge.
The hybrid, a large percentage of wolf and a lesser of shepherd, approached Ratchet. Her wolfish tail was held up as he ruff expanded, "You're new to this area. Are you a loner, or do you belong to some pack?" she would find out the basics first.
A mostly white pit bull stood beside Hydras; she was a close and long-time friend of the alpha. Skeil was also much more friendly and easy-going, though loyal to the point where she'd gladly lay her life on the line to protect her friends and family.
Ratchet
The hybrid instantly lowered himself, showing respect for the two females that approached him. He answered easily, being used to interrogations. "I am a loner, Miss. I trust that my presence does not offend you?" It was a question, not a statement. If the two canines were offended by him, he'd gladly leave and find somewhere else to linger about. His wolvish tail layed limply behind him, twitching ever so slightly. In addition, his large ears played in opposite directions; one trained on the two dogs before him, and one listening for any approaching danger from behind.
Kiarra
The silvery gray wolfess stood behind Hydras and Skeil. Her crystal blue eyes watched Ratchet intently. Being a member of the SLP pack she would protect her alphas' and pack members without hesitation. But Ratchet seemed nice so she calmed down a bit, but you couldn't tell. She stood strongly, ready to attack him if he tried to hurt Hydras or Skeil.
Ratchet
The wolf-dog looked to Kiarra briefly, offering her a polite nod. It was well that pack members protect their leaders from potential threats; it was as it should be. Ratchet respected that quality in both Kiarra and Skeil. Calmly, he returned his attention to Hydras, but made no eye contact; he didn't want to anger the alphess.
Hydras & Skeil
One of her tall-standing ears swiveled back to catch the sound of Kiarra, but full attention was still upon Ratchet. Pleased with his response and respect, she went on, "No, it is quite alright. This land is claimed by my pack, the Shadow Lurkers. So long as you bring us no harm or threat, we will be no bother to you. I'm Hydras, the alpha hunteress, and my mate is Demon." she paused a moment so she wouldn't be relaying too much at once. "Our pack is a large one, but we could always use more members." she offered.
The Shadow Lurkers had quite a lot of enemies, and a large battle seemed to be brewing in the wild lands. Because of an alliance made with a group of wolves and dogs, the Shadow Lurkers were pulled into this growing conflict. And there was the Alley pack, which they had dethrowned long ago. Although the Alley pack's allies were still strong in number, the actual Alley pack had nearly been exterminated in their last battle.
Skeil offered a friendly smile now that she felt all was well. "I'm Skeil." she announced lightly.
Ratchet
Ratchet smiled politely. Maybe it was a good idea to settle down for the time being. Traveling was fun, but it was tiresome after awhile.. Ratchet needed a rest. "Well, if you're offering me a place here, I'm afraid I can't decline." He announced, grinned pleasantly. He knew nothing of the war brewing, but Ratchet was a canine of respect and loyalty; though it would do him good to read the fine print once in awhile.
He looked to Skeil, offering her a kind smile in return. "I'm Ratchet, it's a pleasure."
Kiarra
Kiarra smiled, stepping forward so that she stood next to Skeil, "I am Kiarra, nice to meet you Ratchet" she said with and friendly smile.
Ratchet
"Indeed, Kiarra, the pleasure is mine." He said, offering another polite smile. One ear floated back, pinning against his skull, listening to all the other sounds of the alley. One could never be too careful in such a dangerous place.
Hydras & Skeil
Hydras gave a casual look around while the others introduced each other, then turned to Ratchet once more, "Good, then. It's always a better life to be in our pack than to scatter from us as a loner when we come by." she pointed out lightly, being proud ofher pack. "I'll show you to the others now; they aren't too far away." The she-alpha headed down a few dark alleys to lead the other three to where the rest of the pack waited.
Skeil took a position behind her alpha, keeping alert and ready for any trouble. He glanced back at Ratchet once with a grinning-smile, "You'll like the others. Bullet is in a bad mood though... but I don't think he'll take it out on anyone." She declared, then after a pause added, "He's Hydras' brother."
Hydras, Bullet, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Not too long after leaving her group, Hydras and Skeil returned. The alpha made an announcement to the pack, "We have a new member. Everyone, welcome Ratchet." she said and turned back to see if the hybrid was near at hand for her to point out.
Narsia looked over stood up. She glanced from her mate to Ratchet, the searched the eyes of her fellow pack members to see their reactions.
Bullet lifted his gloomy head and nodded to the stranger. He was normally very easy-going, but a recent punishment from his alpha-sister put him in a sour attitude.
Yersinia waved her brushy tail faintly and perked her ears up in interest. The fur on one of her forelegs was rather tattered looking, showing where she had recently chewed off a cast. This pack certainly got into quite a bit of scuffles.
Hydras looked back over her pack, judging their reactions and waiting for them to introduce themselves to Ratchet.
Kiarra
Kiarra fallowed behind Skeil and once they stopped she padded over to sit next to Yersinia, smiling down at her.
Ratchet
Ratchet wasn't far behind Hydras and Skeil and when they came upon the other pack members, he offered a polite smile to all. His form was respectfully low, but not so low as to be considered cowardly. The hybrid still kept one ear back; it seemed he was always alert. His bushy tail, held low, wagged slightly, displaying a sense of comfort and belonging around the others.
Aaka and Co
Aaka walked behind Racket and said softly but loud enough so all could here "Will he fight?" she was quivering with anxiety. She wanted this fight to start now. But Elena and Moon Spirit were telling her no. She must wait. She didnt know how much longer she could wait though. Eventually her fury would get the better of her.
Sasha Sequioa and Jake moved towards them all. Jake smiled and trotted to Racket. He was the most friendly out of them all. He was the shape of a wolf with the coloring and ears of a golden retriver. With the personality to go with it. "Hi Im Jake!" Sasha just nodded her head and Sequioa remained stiff. She wasnt ready to gain anothers trust
Hydras, Bullet, Narsia, Skeil, & Yersinia
Hydras spoke up once more, "It will be good for him to come along to see the fight. And it would be a good thing for him to join in, as well." she pointed out, indirectly suggesting what she expected of him. She then went on to introduce some of the others,
"This is Bullet," the alpha nodded to her brother who was a dark shade of brown, grey, and tan. "Narsia," slightly smaller than her sister and without such striking colors, "and Yersinia." the daughter of Narsia and Ninaki. "There are others still, and a few things to adress. But that can wait. Now we must go and settle a dissagreement." With her head held regally high, she headed for the Ruins.
Narsia, Skeil, Yersinia, and Bullet fell in line behind her.
