Aura

Aura was beginning to get thin> Where was the man. He hadn’t fed them in awhile. She wondered where her mother and siblings had gone as well. She lies down and sighs.

*Law Enforcement*

The man had been gone for reasons pertaining to his fighting dogs. Word was out that the cops knew he was fighting dogs; something that could bring him a hefty fine and prison time. Although he had asked a friend to feed his dogs while he was away for a while, no one came.

Now that the three fighting dogs had become dangerously thin and obviously uncared for, the local authorities stepped in. But fearing the man was still in the house and might be dangerous, they brought a K-9 unit with them. A German Shepherd, like most K-9 units, was lead at the end of his leash towards the back yard. The leash was in turn held by a tall and rather strong-looking man. Two female officers followed after him.

Looking over the high fence, they spotted the three dogs and saw they were emaciated. The German Shepherd barked loudly at the three canines, "Who are you? Where's your master?" His voice held an air of authority to it.

The three humans spoke to each other.

- "That must be the mother of the two. Looks like a fighting dog; see those scars?"

- "It doesn't look like the pups have been fought yet. Perhaps they could find a home; but they look part wolf. 'Doubt anyone would take them in."

- "We'll at least get them in for treatment. Then they can get evaluated. I don't know about the mother though."

They went on discussing things until one lady tried to coax the dogs over toward her. First, she needed to find out whether the pups could be taken out without a fight or if they needed to bring in the noose-poles and crates.

Aura

"I'm Aura. My master hasn't been here for a while. I wish he was I'm starving." She said. She and her sister were teens anyway not pups. She always wondered how her brother was. She had never been violent towards humans though for the man was always nice to them. She wagged her tail at the women when she called them. She yipped and padded over to the fence wagging her tail. "Mom who are these people?" She asked. After sticking her maw through the fence she padded to the back door and started scratching at it wondering if all these people meant the man had come back. She sits on the stoop but eventually runs back by her mother not knowing what to think.

*Law Enforcement*

The shepherd stood alert, "I'm Shanook. My master is here to take you from this place, Aura. Do not resist or in anyway threaten my master. They will treat you accordingly." He spoke in a factual manner like that, picking up the personality of his handler. Although he couldn't understand his master's words besides the commands he was taught, he could easily understand his personality like most dogs can.

The two female officers used a bolt cutter to cut away a chain that had been wrapped around the fence gate, then they entered the yard. They didn't approach the canines, but called for them again.

The man and Shanook stayed out of the yard.

Aura

She grinned. "Hi Shanook. You talk funny. And why would I hurt your master?" She said coolly and questioningly wondering why he sounded so strange. She saw the two women and looked to her mom and sister again then slowly approached the women wagging her tail. She had never been mean to the man or any other humans. She wags her tail as she walks over and licks one of the women's hand. Perhaps she had some food for Aura was starving.

*wagging her tail at the sight of the humans hoping they would feed her and what was left of her first litter the she wolf stood up and stepped out of the dog house.* "i'm hidden secrets and this is my other daughter silent snow. my son hidden secrets was taken away by the man to down town. i haven't seen him and i am worried. i think he may have been sent to a very bad man. i hear things being left out here in the yard." *she cautiously stepped forward towards the humans in a submissive form. she was sweet natured and had never hurt any human only she had been forced to hurt other animals by them.*

*silent snow stayed behind the dog house now scared. she had started to mistrust humans a bit now since the man had left them and not fed them. she slowly crept out and stayed behind her mother. they looked like identical twins except she was younger.*

*Law Enforcement*

Shanook nodded to them, but didn't reply yet. He watched intently as the other two officers entered the pen. It was also his job, as he felt, to make sure all the officers were safe although his master was top priority.

One lady patted Aura's head in response, glad that she wasn't aggressive. They were also very relieved to find that Hidden Secrets wasn't going to be protective of her pups and 'territory'. One lady held out a rope and attempted to put it around Hidden Secrets' neck. The other officer tried to get one around Aura's. They would have to come back for Silent Snow.

The man stayed back still. Although Shanook was trusted around other dogs, he was extremely loyal. If they showed even the slightest signs of aggression, he would attack purely in defense of his master. This was just his nature and how he was raised and trained.

Aura

She wagged her tail when she got patted on the head. She wasn't worried about the rope for she had seen the man put one on her mother and her mother had always returned. She yipped for her sister to come out. "Mom where are they taking us?" She asked.

i don't know it was always the pit for me but this feels different. *she was reluctant to leave snow but hoped the humans would come back for her.*

*snow lay down and thought the same thing as her mother.*

Aura

She padded by her mother ignoring the rope around her neck. She sat close by her mother also hoping they'd go back for Silent Snow. She didn't know why they weren't taking her as well.

*Law Enforcement*

They led the two out of the yard and quickly closed they gate so Silent Snow couldn't follow. Two were taken around the house and to the street were a police car and a van were parked. The van was a vehicle from a local animal rescue organization, and had many cages in the back of it. After opening the bottom two cages, the ladies tried to encourage Aura and Hidden Secrets to jump into them.

Shanook watched them leave with an intent gaze. Then he turned to Silent Snow. "Once your mother and sister are put in the cages, they will be here for you."

Aura

She saw the cages and at first got nervous and whimpered slightly. It seemed so small to her but finally she jumped up unto one sniffing around curiously.

*she jumped into the other cage and laid down letting them take off the rope when they did. she laid down and waited for silent snow*

"they better i don't want to be left here alone." silent snow answered.

*Law Enforcement*

Shanook tilted one of his large ears to the side, listening to the sound of the two officers with Aura and Hidden Secrets. He spoke again to Silent Snow, "You won’t be left here. They will put you in a cage as well, so don't resist and they will treat you accordingly." Again, he spoke in his ever-rehearsed line. It wasn't that he was showing apathy to these three canines, but like his master, it was just part of the job to be serious most of the time.

The ropes were taken off of the two canines and the cages closed and locked. One female officer returned to the back yard now and entered the yard again. She cautiously approached Silent Snow, trying to get the rope around her neck as well.

All the while, Shanook watched on intently as always, making sure the lady wouldn't be harmed.

Aura

She sighed and laid down with her head on her paws. "Mom do you think we will get a new home. I have a feeling were not coming back here." She asked. "I hope they don’t separate us..." She finally said worriedly.

*she let the lady put the rope on her. she was too weak to fight if she wanted to anyways.*

"i hope they don't separate us either aura. i am sure we won't be coming back here at all."

*Law Enforcement*

The lady led her to the van as well, and seeing how weak she was, lifted her into one of the cages and closed the door. Soon, the van roared to life and drove off to the Pound.

Shanook and his master entered the yard and searched around. Then they went inside to investigate.
