Trap
Trap's dark brown coat almost blended into the drab brick buildings that he was sauntering past, and at 60 pounds, he was not so large as to catch a lot of attention from the few humans who were out and about in this rundown section of town. He kept his wits about him still, and made a point to look back and account for Luna, to make sure that she wasn't in any danger. After they'd covered a few blocks, Trap piped up with enthusiasm, "The place where I usually find icecream is right up here."
Luna
Luna slunk down, her tail quivering with excitement at the quest. Since she was light-colored, she made sure to stick to the shadows. Her tongue slunk out of her mouth, slightly moving left and right to taste the air. She could already feel the creamy goodness on her chaps, trotting in anticipation. A playful gleam in her yellow eyes, she brushed up against Trap and nodded.
"What does it smell like, so that I can detect it?"
She asked quietly, looking around.
Trap
Trap couldn't help himself, and smiled when Luna brushed up against him. In return, he gave her a friendly nudge with his muzzle, almost playful in nature. Traveling mostly on his own, it wasn't often that he was able to hang out with another canine just for the fun of it, and he was definitely enjoying this outing with Luna so far. "It's very sweet smelling. Kind of like nectar, but.." His brown ears folded back a moment as he thought, "...but richer."
Trap crossed a street and ducked into a narrow alleyway. Dumpsters lined the narrow space, and the scent of various foods wafted from the giant metal bins. Somewhere among the myriad of odors, there was a distinct sweetness in the air, and when Trap sniffed it out, his tail began to wag furiously, "Ahhh, smell that?"
Luna
She gave him a playful nudge on the shoulder in return, and sniffed the air. A sweetness so delectable and delicious wafted to her nose, and she nodded. It smelled strong, but very rich. Yet, she was wary around the small Twolegs.
"How will we get them?"
She asked Trap.
Trap
Trap should have been wary too, but he was young and over-confident. He was also trying to impress Luna, on a subtle level. "There's a few different tricks I've learned. First, you have to know which den the ice cream comes form." He pointed out, calling the buildings 'den' for lack of a better comparison. "This one here is where I usually find the ice cream-" The brown and tan wolfdog stopped in front of a light-blue colored building and eyed the dumpster near it. "If you're careful and clever, you can go around to the front of the den and play cute with the two-leggers, and sometimes they'll give you their icecream. And sometimes, they'll drop it by accident, and all you have to do is swoop in and take it. But if you're patient enough, you can just wait back here, and eventually a twolegger will come out of this door and dump a bunch of icecream into that thing." Trap nodded his lean muzzle to the dumpster once more.
Luna
She merely nodded, stiffening her muzzle at the stench of the Twolegs.
"If I can play cute."
She joked softly.
"You'll have all of the little ones dumping them on your head if you keep that up."
She barked, flicking her tail at his smile.
Trap
Trap laughed in amusement, "'If'? I think you'd be perfect at it." It was both a tease and a compliment, and given with a gutsy grin that seemed to stretch from one ear to the other on his long face.
Jesting aside, Trap looked at the backdoor and cocked his head to the side. His ears were swiveled forward to catch any sound he could from within the building, but he wasn't hearing much. "If someone doesn't come out soon, I might just go around front and see if I can get little two-leggers to dump ice cream on me." He side-glanced at her, with his cheeky smirk still plastered on his face.
Luna
She padded past him, a teasing smile on her face. Her tail flirtingly brushed up against his side, and a soft giggle escaped her maw. Her head peeked around the corner with her ears pricked, and nose twitching.
"I don't see anyone..Hmm.."
Trap
As much as Trap was looking forward to ice cream, his interest was starting to sway more towards the flirtatious wolfess. He swished his tail against her again, and on a whim, flicked his head back and gave her a playful nip on the shoulder. Why not have a bit of fun while waiting for a human to bring the trash out?
Luna
She wagged her tail and attempted to pounce on him, letting out a spurt of laughter.
Trap
Trap bounced lightly aside to avoid her pounce, only to counter attack with another playful nip at her shoulder. His tail was wagging a mile a minute, and he all but forgot about watching the door of the ice cream shop.
Luna
She smiled and turned her cranium toward the door, hearing footsteps. She stopped the play and crouched low, whispering to Trap,
"The Twolegs are coming!"
Trap
The wolfdog's lean muzzle snapped towards the door as he belatedly responded to the same footsteps that Luna had. Trap's tail froze in mid-wag, hanging there apprehensively, "Just stay calm..." A mix of excitement and hesitation began to stir in him as he watched the door, not knowing what to expect from the two-legger. Perhaps a free meal, if they were lucky, and the ice cream he'd promised to find for Luna. If they were unlucky... they might get a kick, or at the very least, shouted at.
Luna
She nodded and timidly put a paw on the door, then wagging her tail and putting on her cutest face. She was nervous, but the Twolegs couldn't smell fear...Right?
