Storm

It had been only about twenty four hours, give or take a few hours, since she had given birth to her litter. Puppies hadn’t been something that had been on her mind, but her instincts had taken over. She had given birth to a healthy litter, but with the lack of good food she was still pretty weak. This was a downfall of not being a member of a pack. She lay behind one of the dumpsters in the alley where she had given birth. Soon, she could hear the sound of someone approaching. Yet, it wasn’t the sound of those rubber soled things that the humans wore. Instead it was the sound of a few sets of paws. Great.

Storm lay low for a few moments; silently hoping that the canines were either friendly or they just wouldn’t notice her there. Unfortunately, neither of these was the case as they got closer and must have caught her scent. She heard their growls as they came towards her, obviously on her scent. Once they rounded the corner to where she was laying with her pups she was waiting. She was already to her feet and stood, bristling and showing her teeth. The other strays attacked her. She fought back and managed to move the fight away from her defenseless litter. The hybrid girl fought hard but it was an unfair fight. She was taking hits and her white fur was beginning to be stained red. Yet, still she fought. Her life and her pups’ depended on it. After all, there was no one to save her or them.

Falcon

Falcon happened to be patrolling when he noticed the sound of a fight near the border of the Shadow Lurkers. He was heading there to check it out when a familiar scent brought a face to his mind. Storm…the fea he met earlier. Pushing his long limbs even harder, it wasn’t long before his grey figure entered the alley area they were fighting in, slightly away from the dumpster. Anger boiled deep within him when he saw the three males fighting against one female, who was weak from just giving birth. All of this he picked up from sight and scent in the few heartbeats it took him to get to the fighting canines. Without hesitation, he pushed himself right into the middle of it, separating the three males from Storm long enough for them to regroup. Pelt bristling, he bared his fangs full on, looking like an avenging angel as he stood ready to take on all three wolves by himself. The 130 lbs titan could handle these scrawny scavengers without Storm’s help and he hoped she wouldn’t try. The duchess was hurt enough already.

He didn’t have long to think about it before the one of the brute’s made a attack to test him out. Oddly enough, he must have been an amateur for he left his neck open for attack, an opportunity Flacon didn’t waste as he tore into the guy’s life vein. Soon he was squirming on the floor. While in the midst of ridding the world of their friend, the other two loners made a cheap shot by attacking Falcon together. One landed a slightly painful blow on his right hip while he squared off with the other one. This one took a little longer to dispose of, but when he raked his fangs across the other demon’s face a couple of times, and maybe even blinding him in one of his eyes from the way he yelped. Spinning around, he ignored the pain that shot through him as he yanked his hip out of the other guys hold. All it took was to remember Storm’s angel colored coat stained with the devil’s color to have his anger back up. This guy was made short work of, and was ripped up quite a bit before Falcon finally allowed the guy to run yelping away, long after he begged for release. He sure as hell wouldn’t be bothering any other newly made mother in his life, Falcon made sure of that. Chocolate jewels turned to look to see where Storm went. Was she okay? If she returned back to the pups, he decided to be a gentleman and not follow, incase she decided to rip his head off too.

Storm, you and the young’uns alright?

Storm

Storm knew that this fight could mean the difference between life and death for not only herself but for her pups as well. So, she fought with all she had. She had managed to land a few good attacks on her attackers, but it wasn’t enough. Then she heard the sound of another approaching among the sounds of the snarling and growling of her own and the others. The first thought that came to her mind was that it was another dog that was with these three. Yet, instead of this new dog attacking her, he cut off the path between her and the attacking trio. That was when she stopped for a moment. Who would defend her? She stepped back and saw that it was a male she had met some time ago, Falcon.

She moved back away from the fight, but only a few steps away. Her sepia colored eyes remained watching the fight, to make sure that Falcon didn’t need her assistance. If he did get into a tight spot then she would jump back in. If not then she was fine to stay back and catch her breath once again. She saw that Falcon didn’t take long to dispose of the first of the attackers, and the others were quick to follow. Once she was sure he would be ok she went to check on the pups. They were all fine, soon the snarling subsided and she heard Falcon’s voice. He stayed back from her and the pups. She walked back out from her hiding spot and approached him.

Yes, we are fine. Thank you.

She was truly was thankful. Honestly, she wasn’t exactly fine; she had many wounds and was bleeding a lot. Her once white fur was stained red from the blood loss. But, she wasn’t going to show how bad of a shape she really was.

Falcon

Falcon was surprised at how well Storm managed to defend herself against so many wolves until he arrived. After all he had a pack that helped him train to be a warrior, she didn’t seem to have anyone. With a pack’s help and training, he wondered how skilled this wolfess could be. He was grateful that the beautiful goddess didn’t jump back into the fight, she looked pretty hurt already, and that only fueled him to chase the punks out faster or kill them. Whichever happened first. After getting rid of them, and asking if Storm was okay, the lass came back into view from behind the dumpster. When she came closer into view, his orbs examined her body as he looked for serious injuries that might need attention now. If not, then he would take her straight to the pack for safety. She said they were all okay, and gave her gratitude.

The pleasure was mine, and I am glad you are alright. My lady, you and the young should come with me. I shall take you all to the pack for help.

He made it sound like an option, but he wouldn’t give up until they agreed. She was hurt, and this was no place to raise pups, especially with other loners around. The titan was positive Argolis would take them in, at least as sure as he could be. The huntress ivory canvass was covered in scarlet, something that made his fur stand in worry. For some reason he came to care for Storm, and he would care for her and her pups. Falcon knew better than to force her into anything right now, she was scared for sure, but probably angry, tired, and feeling very protective of her young. He would have to let her lead and make her own decisions right now, and only try to help, something he was fine with and quite ready to do.

Storm

Storm had learned how to fight out of necessity. She had never had anyone to teach her since she was pushed out on her own as soon as she was able to survive. It truly is a wonder that she had survived this long with no parents to teach her how to defend herself in such a place as this. But, she had survived and had become stronger for it. Though, even with that, she couldn’t overpower the four mutts on her own in her weakened state. So, she was more than thankful for Falcon’s help. After the battle was over she approached the male that was her hero for the day. She was bleeding, but there was no life threatening injuries, just ones that hurt pretty badly and would need cleaning. She then heard his offer, that they should come to his pack and she hesitated. She wasn’t sure that pack life would be for her. Never before had she had anyone to answer to aside from herself and she wasn’t sure that she wanted anyone above her. It wasn’t a dominance issue; she wasn’t a dominant girl… It was an issue of her freedom. Yet, she had her pups to think of and she assumed she would have to make sacrifices.

I will come with you, Falcon. But, I am not so sure about the restraints of pack life.

She made the decision that seemed the most logical to her at this moment. After all, the vixen knew that if another attack came today that she would have slim chances of survival. Then her pups would be left with no protection. Never would she willingly allow that. She was thankful that he didn’t pressure her into anything, though. Instead he allowed her to choose on her own. Though, she had mentioned her insecurity as well. Now, she just waited for what would come next.

Falcon

Falcon was observant as Storm came near him, his orbs taking in her wounds once again. None seemed deadly so he calmed down. When he got her back to the den he would care for her and the little ones. He was already feeling very protected of her and doubted he would let anyone harm her there. Her hesitation was understandable, being a loner she probably had no one to help her stand on her own or had to listen to anyone either. Soon she spoke, saying she would come with him, even though she wasn’t sure about pack life. Smiling, he nodded, his words followed quickly.

Thank you, Storm, I wouldn’t want you or the young ones to become harmed further. Do you need help carrying them, maybe?

When she answered, and said if he did or not, he found himself standing near her in a protective way as he waited for her to lead the way. Falcon knew she knew where the Lurker’s were.
