Storm

Today was a day that was just like every other one that had passed here lately. Another day of boredom and stalking around the Alleys that she called her home. Sure, most like her would find a place more wild something that they would enjoy, but Storm enjoyed the allies where she could often find easy meals of house cats or human scraps. It was not that she did not think that she could make it in the wild, this just was a place that she found comfortable. So, she was walking around here now, careful to avoid the borders of the grounds that belonged to the pack that she knew to live within the alley.

She had enough sense not to pass over a pack’s borders without being invited and she would never do so if it could be helped. And right now there was no reason for her to search for anything within the lands that belonged to this group that she had heard was called the Shadow Lurkers. So, she just went around to the trash cans that she found along the alley way, jumping up on them and sniffing the contents for any signs of food while she kept an ear out for anything that might decide to approach her.

With her keen sense of smell she found a discarded pizza boz that still held a couple of slices of pizza in it. So, she took the box from the metal container and dropped it on the pavement before she began digging at the cardboard with her paws then picking the box up and shaking it until it fell open and the pizza landed on the ground. She quickly began to eat one of the pieces.

Falcon

The grey figure moved easily through the alleys, the moon highlighting his white guard hairs. He didn’t know where he was going, just that he had to keep moving while the peace lasted. That was all he needed, peace, after everything that had happened at the Canyon. Flashbacks came to his mind as he remembered fighting the lead canine, Bandit. Using his fighting skills, he had managed to capture the other brute’s leg in his jaws, and it must have left him powerless, for none of his attacks caught Falcon. It wasn’t long before Bandit was leading his group into a retreat, and the battle was over, but it wasn’t without its losses. Two members of the Lurkers were lost that day, and it had been a big blow on all of them.

Falcon stopped when the strong smell of meat hit his nostrils. Suddenly he rememberd how hungry he was, and he realized he hadn’t eaten in a while. Turning he nosed his way into a torn garbage bag, letting his sense of smell lead the way. Clamping his maw upon the juicy treat, he pulled his head out to find a barely touched cooked turkey in his maw. It was cold, but that wouldn’t matter to him. Somebody had obviously hadn’t liked their holiday treat. One man’s trash, was another’s gold he thought with a small smirk.

He was about to eat, when the scent of a loner hit his nostrils. Looking around he spotted a fea, who was clearly moving around for a purpose. The brute watched her careful skirts of his home lines, and he became curious. Obviously she knew of them, which seemed odd since lately they had so many close to them, that didn’t even realize they were there. He watched as she disappeared into the alley way, and without a second thought to discourage him, he followed after her. Picking up the turkey, he followed after her, making sure he wouldn’t be notice till he was ready. Normally he would of made himself known, but his shyness held him back, for some reason. Watching her sniff around the trash, he was thinking of letting her know he was there, but the way her ear was alert, it discouraged him. She was obviously cautious, and it made him wonder if she would sooner run or try to fight him then talk.

During his thoughts, he realized that the brutale in front of her him had found a box of pizza. He watched as she finally opened the box, and began to chew upon one of the slices. Coming forth, he let his paws be heard in a well announced approach. Pricks auds, and a crooked grin while holding the turkey, was given to show he meant no harm. Brown orbs watched her as he stopped a jump away from her. Lowering his head, he dropped the turkey upon the ground, knowing the meat could be seen clearly where someone had dug into it before they threw it out. He took a few steps back, and spoke his voice rough.

Can I interest the lady in some meat? I’m Falcon, member of the Shadow Lurkers. May I ask for the duchess name?

He waited for a reply, and being the gentlemen he was, he offered his food to her. Placing his haunches upon the ground, he wondered what she was doing around here. It must be a hard life here, constantly fighting for what little food there was with other animals, and being watchful of the humans. Falcon was grateful he had the pack, and it made him realize how others weren’t so lucky. Blinking his brown colored orbs at her, he wondered why she just didn’t go find a home with a human, join a pack, or go to the wild lands. The latter may be a hard one, possibly even harder than living in the alleys, but it was better than constantly glancing over your shoulder. Perhaps that was why the fea had been so cautious, perhaps she was worried something was going to happen to her. The bronc couldn’t blame the femme, being a loner must be a hard life. Maybe, if he could talk her into it, she would come join the Lurkers? With a new hope, he waited for her reaction, making sure his kind gestures were still on his face, the crooked grin, welcoming orbs, and inoffensive body language.

Storm

Despite the fact that she kept her senses keen, her ears perked and open along with her ebony nostrils flaring to take in scents. But, with the variety of scents that were in the area, she did not catch any new scents that should worry her. Just the scents of the pack that lived near by where she was at filled her nostrils and were deciphered quickly as familiar, though she had never met the dogs who actually carried these scents. So, she did not realize that there was another canine so close by where she was right now. Had she known, she would have been more guarded, after all a stray living on the streets alone had to be on their guard. This was why she had not relaxed yet as she munched down on the piece of pizza that she had gotten from the box that now lay open on the ground. She gulped down the first piece in record time, since she knew that it was crucial that she finished her meal before another or others came to steal it away.

When she heard the sounds of paws approaching where she stood, she had just began to eat the second piece of pizza, but with the sound her head snapped up and she looked for the source of the sounds. She spotted a grey figure of another canine. Her nares flared as she remained on guard, noting that his scent was one that mingled with one of those who lingered in this area. And since they had never caused her harm before, she did not run nor did she attack. Instead she just took in the way that he approached, noting his grin, and the friendly way he carried himself.

Though, normally she would not stick around when confronted, this male seemed friendly enough and this was confirmed in her mind as he spoke, offering her a portion of his meal, introducing himself, mentioning the pack that lived here, and finally asking her own name. So, she replied simply enough.

That is kind of you, I am Storm...

Storm did not outright accept his offer, though she did in her own round about way as well as showing her thanks in the process. So, she waited for the male to offer her a portion of the meal as her tail wagged ever so gently to and fro. Her cautiousness was still there and pretty obvious, but this would be a hard thing for her to drop. She had never had any one who had her back like a friend or pack or anything so she knew that she had to stay on alert.

Falcon

He watched as her head whipped up to see what had made the noise. Falcon hoped he hadn’t scared the vampress too much, or made her nervous with his company. That was all he was seeking, someone to talk to, and he would of blushed if possible. Being the shy type, normally he wouldn’t of been so bold as to approach a strange vixen, but something about this one brought him forward. He watched as she finished her second piece of pizza as she stared at him, with perhaps a confused look, a friendly one maybe? Perhaps when she realized he lived here, she would think that he had come to chase her off, like maybe he was protecting his home. He wasn’t sure, and he hoped she wouldn’t run, it would ruin his chance of conversation with the loner, and he didn’t want that.

Relief came from him when she stayed put, not running, or acting as if she was going to attack. When he finished speaking, he could tell she was thinking over her words, and so he waited for a reply. His wait wasn’t for long, for soon her sweet voice filled the air. He gave a slight nod of his head at her words of him being kind. No, he was just a caring brute that noticed a canine in need really. It was typical for him. His smile grew a little more welcoming as he placed his haunches upon the ground, for both of them. Him so he was confident enough she wouldn’t attack, and for her so she would sense him as no threat. He spoke back, his tone calm and polite still.

Storm, a pretty name. So…do you have a story?

Basically he was asking if she would share her history. Where did she come, did she have any family, that kind of story. Whether she shared or not, he would probably offer his up, simply to start a conversation, and ease the slight tension between the two. Maybe even after they get to know each other, he would offer her to come meet the Lurkers. She was a loner, he knew that already, so she mustn’t have any friends that could be against them, right? He noticed that she didn’t step forward to grab the meat, and he wondered if she was too shy to. Getting to his feet, he crept closer to the turkey, and using his powerful jaws he tore a pretty good size bit of it off, and the nudged it forward toward the femme in front of him till it skidded toward her across the alley floor. There was still plenty left, enough to fill her belly with or without the pizza probably. When he found, hardly any of it had been gone, and he was lucky to have come across it before some other animal. He could tell she was still wary, and so on his part he laid his body upon the ground, ignoring the uncomfortable filling of having her standing, a advantage against him, but he was simply trying to ease he wariness, and even he could tell that it would take time. Placing the meat down he tore off, he laid it in front of his paws as he waited for her reply to his question. He was hoping he would be in for a story, but for now he watched the femme before him, only half chewing on the meat.

Storm

Storm stood in front of this new brute as she noticed that he lowered his own rear end to the ground. She did not know if this was a way of trying to seem less threatening or a way of just making himself more comfortable. She continued to stand, though not feeling comfortable enough in the situation to allow her guard to go down that much. Sure, she was not to the point of fight or flight, but this was because she had been living near the pack that this other canine lived with just about all of her life, she had grown accustomed to them. None of them had ever approached her let alone tried to chase her off. She had lived here all her life without being bothered.

This other canine went on to speak after he had sat down. His words complimented her name and also asked her if she had a story. Well, she was not sure if her past could be considered a story, truly. And, if it could be considered to be a story she was sure that it would not be a very interesting one. But, she decided that she might as well tell it any way. He had asked after all...

Well, I was born here in the valley... My mother is a wolf named Rukia and my father is a domestic dog named Pyro... I have lived here in the alleys since I was about 6 months old...

There it was, her incredibly boring story. She hoped that she had not bored this male too much with it. But, that was her true story, she was not going to add anything to it to try and make herself seem more interesting. Never would she lie to try to impress someone, especially someone who she had just met.

Falcon

Falcon saw how she eyed him as he lowered himself to the ground. He hoped he had calmed or reassured her that he meant no harm. All he wanted was a interesting conversation, and perhaps a new friend, so long as she wasn’t a threat to his pack. Which for some reason his mind told him that she already wasn’t. When she remained standing though, he wondered if it was because she was uncomfortable, or simply wanted to feel in control of this meeting. Either way he was fine with it, and he was confident in his skills enough that he wasn’t worried about any surprise attacks, and he continued to wait for a reply.

He was rewarded with her sweet voice telling him of her past. It wasn’t much, but it was nice to know. He had never heard of the wolves Rukia and Pryo, so he was thinking that perhaps she led a simple life with no ties to the wild packs. In a way this was good, really good for him, because he could probably be her friend now. That is if she allowed it. The part about her living by herself in the alleys for years made him feel sorry for her. It must be a lonely and constantly on guard job. He was lucky enough to have his family and a pack. He spoke, his voice a soft masculine sound.

You’ve led a very interesting life Storm. Me, I was born to a loner named Black Fang and a pack wolf named Sheena. I then came here with my siblings and joined the Lurkers. They’ve been like family.

He stopped, waiting for a reply from her. Perhaps she would have questions about the wolves that lived so close to her.
