Adrian

The time had come to capture some canines for the new breed of dog. Adrian had seen some pretty good dogs around the alleys, so this was the best place to start. Working quickly, he set up a live cage trap with deer meat inside. With the winter weather here, hunting was scarce, so Adrian figured that it would be easy to catch something in the trap.

The trap was a large cage, with dull-colored bars which were harder to see against the alley environment. It was hidden between trash cans, obscuring the fact that it was a trap even more. Hopefully a big, hungry canine would wander in. When it did, the door would slam closed, leaving the animal trapped but uninjured.

With the trap set up, Adrian quickly left.

Camden

With Lyckos busy setting battle plans, Camden had taken it upon himself to ensure security was stepped up around the alleys. They needed to be extra vigilant against enemy sabotage attempts or sneak assaults. The cold weather had dimmed Adrian's scent enough so that Camden could sense the unknown smell, but could not tell whose it was, animal or human. However, he did know that this was not the scent of a Lurker or an ally. Growling quietly to himself to express his unease, Camden hesitated in calling backup, simply because it was a lone scent, and he could handle a rogue creature on his own. Stalking through the alleys, the scent grew a little stronger, but something much more overpowering hit him. The deer meat was too good to pass up in such scarse conditions, and hunting was even less frequent now as Lyckos had instructed the group not to seperate off for hunts unless in large groups, and with everyone so busy preparing for the war, there was little time to search to food. Figuring whoever or whatever the scent was was long gone by now, Camden approached the meat with little caution, his overwhelming hunger dulling his sense of danger. He stepped neatly into the trap, and too slowly realised his mistake. As he turned to bolt, the trap closed, and he was stuck. A thunderous snarl tore from his throat, all thoughts of food forgotten, as he backed up against the back of the cage, glowering at the humans that would surely come to get him. He did not call the pack; he would not put them in danger due to his own stupidity. He would simply have to escape from wherever they would take him quickly, else he miss the battle, or the Lurkers foolishly switched their attentions to his rescue. This was not what they needed right now.

Dimitri; Kodiak

It was a little while before a human showed up to take home the prize. Dimitri was the one who was sent to check the trap, with Adrian scouting the packs for suitable canines. He would really rather not be here; his young daughter was left home with Shasta, and he'd like to be back in his own house himself. But Adrian was the boss, and either way, Dimitri needed something to get his mind off of all the trouble.

The alley seemed empty when the man arrived. He wondered if it was even inhabited anymore. A low growl told him it was, so he readied his tranquilizer rifle and made sure his pistol was within reach. The pistol was saved for the worst case scenario. He didn't want to kill any wolves, but if one attacked, he'd have to defend himself.

He walked slowly and quietly through the alley, headed for the trap. His wolf hybrid, Kodiak, was at his side, keeping watch for any angry animals. Dimitri held his hand out to the dog, motioning for him to sit and stay. Dimitri reached the trap, his green eyes widening when he saw the beast. It was huge! This mutt would be perfect for the hound. Without another thought, he raised his tranquilizer gun, took aim, and fired a dart at Camden.

Camden

Dimitri's scent reached Camden long before the human was aware he'd caught anything in the trap. The low growl doubled in volume and intensity, then trebled when Dimitri came into sight. Camden's feral yellow eyes narrowed, his gums pulled right back over his fangs, the growl tearing from his throat viciously. The large wolf hybrid, almost a perfect copy of his father, Lyckos, bar the bright yellow eyes of Hydras, pressed his rear against the bars at the back of the trap to try and keep as far away as possible from the human, but he knew it was to no avail. The appearance of the tranquilizer sent Camden's ears lacing flat against his skull. However, with nowhere to run, the dart hit him in the shoulder. Within a few minutes, and against all the struggles of the dog to stay awake and upright, Camden sunk to the bottom of the trap, and fell unconcious.

Dimitri Volkov; Kodiak; Kobalt, Minnesota Silvereye

Dimitri Volkov had been compared to a wolf. Brave, fierce, loyal to his 'pack,' powerful, and quite scary in many cases. It was a peculiar coincidence that his surname meant "of Wolf" or "Wolf's son." Some had suggested that in his 'past life' he was a wolf, but he didn't believe in all that superstitious crap. He had always been himself. That's what he told everybody, at least. He was Dimitri Novokov before the Volkovs took him in. He was the biological son of Damian Novokov, the notorious criminal who hurt and killed people just because it was 'fun.'

The point is that a wolf could never win a battle against Dimitri; it would at least be a tie. This was what he believed, anyway, so he wasn't afraid of this hybrid. He knelt down and examined the animal. Perfect. Just right. He then slowly dragged the cage with the heavy canine in it and managed to lift it into the back of his nearby truck.

Also in the truck was a tri-colored, bi-eyed hybrid, chained tightly and muzzled despite his apparent calm and loyal submission. This was Minnesota Silvereye. He wagged his tail when Dimitri approached, but Kodiak simply growling at the happy dog. Then, Kodiak quickly turned around, his hackles raised, growling. There was a coywolf watching them, teeth bared. This was Kobalt, son of Kahvi and Saydin. He clearly wanted the human to release Camden and go away.

The tranquilizer was rather weak, just enough to make the animal sleep for a while to make it easier to get it into the truck. Camden, depending on his reaction to the drug, might wake up soon.

Vixen

A solid black, but some brown under her chin wolfess appeared. Yellow lampages stared at the human with her packmates. A growl came from her as she approached slowly, seeing the human with the guns. Wearily she stopped a short distance away still growling. The 110 lbs fea spoke

"Get your human to let them go, they haven't done anything wrong to you. You have no right to take them."

Her voice loud, and slightly pleadful. She knew she was outnumbered by the human and two unfamiliar hybrids. Especially with the human having those guns, but she was determined. She stopped growling to let loose a soft whine. She choked it off a as it escaped her maw, but it could still be heard for however short it had been. She lifted a paw as if to step forward, and get her comrades back, however she stopped herself to look at the unknown canines and human. The tip of her tail wagged ever so slightly out of annoyance. What was she going to do? She couldn't leave her packmates to defend for themselves, but she wouldn't be able to take all of them on.

"Camden, Kobalt, dam it wake up! Give them back, please." Her voice was no longer pleading, and held slight demanding in it to show just how worried she was. Fear coursed through her, but she stood her ground, her front two fangs showing more out of reassurance to herself, rather than challenging the human and canines. Her usual happy go nature long gone out of fear for her packmates that were being taken away.
